I dont normally write a real game review, but enjoyed this game so more than I expected. I knew nothing about the Homeworld series, nor did I know that this game was a prequel when I started it. At first I couldn't have cared less about the story, but by the end of the campaign I was completely hooked. (I love space politics). Really fun gameplay decisions, I really like idea of a movable main base (reminds me of playing necrons in 40k DoW), and also having forces that carry on from level to level, and the inclusion of the veteran system, I know other RTS games have had these elements before, but this one came together very nicely. Troop pathing kinda sucks and it can be heartbreaking to watch your troops walk into the path of a nuke despite me trying to divert them, but honestly it didn't take away from my experience. In 2023 you can get this game and the dlc for like $5 and that's more than worth it in my opinion.

I just started Homeworld: Remastered yesterday and I am very excited to continue the series. I'll probably even pick up cataclysm if im still hooked after HW2
