Controller controls do not work and half the controls are unbound when first launching the game. Essentially unplayable.

Played on the Steam Deck.

Indika feels a lot more like a thought experiment with random puzzles thrown in. The story isn't overly compelling, but the thoughts and ideas behind the dialogue can be very thought provoking.

On the Steam Deck, the game isn't as beautiful as I think they made it to be. I may come back to this game to replay it in 4k to really enjoy the details of the environment. The game did run smoothly, for the most part, but I did experience some frame dropping in some environments.

Overall a very good, short story. It almost feels like watching a movie.

Plays great on the Steam Deck, despite being labelled as "Unsupported".

Really addicting game loop and progression.

Early Access Review
Incredibly buggy even for a Early Access game. Still playable, kind of.

First review on release day - Subject to change

Positives
- Runs amazing at ultra graphics with RTX enabled and DLSS 2.0 (RTX 3070ti)
- Feels good when using a controller
- Hilariously bad English translation but in a way that makes the game 1000x better
- Management aspects are fun
- Lots of cars to choose from and customize
- Destruction feels satisfying

Negatives
- Some missions are literally impossible (I'll explain later)
- Some bugs but not too bad
- Keyboard controls are actually the worst I've ever experienced
- Menu is tedious when using controller
- This game makes me feel a lot of emotions. Mostly grief, anger, and despair.

Further explanation of Key Points

The reason I say this game has some impossible missions is mostly because of the one I've been stuck on for 2 hours now. The mission being the derby against Boomer. Boomer gets a monster truck, which you have to destroy by ramming into him with your own vehicle. Meanwhile you must also dodge his 2 minion cars which constantly throw explosive and are also trying to ram you.

Now whats so hard about ramming a monster truck? Well, this monster truck goes faster than the fastest car that is available at this stage in the game. Also the monster truck seems to have near infinite traction and weight. Also, unlike you, he can't be damaged by the environment. Normally, you can ram other cars into walls and they will take extra damage. Not Boomer, he can fly 50 feet into the air land on his ballsack and shrug it off. Also, hitting Boomer does more damage to your car than it does this his.

I've found ways to do damage to Boomer without receiving too much in return, but its hit or miss and I'll usually get him down to a sliver of health before I love tap a wall and die.

Anyway, rant over.

The game is amazing when your not soft-blocked by a bull**** boss fight.

F*** Boomer.

I have about 6 hours as of this review, but Steam doesn't track when the game is launched from the Oculus Quest. Also, I list the enemies I've encountered so... spoiler alert?

It's really fun, kind of grindy, a little terrifying. If you've ever wanted to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R in VR, this is the closest you'll get. I haven't been too close to the Radius, so the enemies are fairly simple so far but there is a wide range of them. You got police guy, soldier guy, jumpy spider, angry zombie, healy mage, invisible hunters.

The world is well designed, each area is fairly small but due to the game's pace it takes about 10 minutes to go from one side to another. Plenty of places to explore and loot. There's also plenty of landmarks to raid.

Graphics are ok, not the best. Fairly zig-zagged even with DLSS smoothing up to Quality setting. It looks nice enough to immerse you in the environment, though.

Drops frames like crazy outside of cutscenes. Was enough jitter to make me motion sick.

The best VR game on the market. So good that I'm scared I may never enjoy another VR game again, since they all pale in comparison.

I purchased because I played the Last Stand and the Last Stand 2 back in the day. These are very much those game. I really enjoyed replaying through the games. The only negative I have for this game, is its quite buggy.
