Hands down, the best shmup ever released and one of the best games ever crafted.

Released in 1998, this was one of the most impressive Sega Saturn exclusives that sadly only stayed in Japan. This led to very high prices for importing Radiant Silvergun for the Saturn. While I admit that the Saturn version on a proper CRT is still the best way to play Radiant Silvergun, the Steam port comes as a very close second. And for the price of under 20$ ... believe me, it is worth it.

This is an excellent port of the (already amazing) XBLA version, containing the classic arcade mode, the unique story mode, training mode, online leaderboards and local multiplayer. Even if Steam officially says this is unsupported for the Steam Deck, I can confidently say, this port runs absolutely flawless on the Steam Deck.

Radiant Silvergun is extremely difficult but highly rewarding, addicting and just a total rollercoaster ride from start to finish. The story mode is still unique with its light RPG mechanics and interesting storyline.
Also, check out the soundtrack from Hitoshi Sakimoto (yes, the man behind the Final Fantasy Tactics & XII OSTs), I could blast this one for hours.
