The pixelated graphics are cute and it's a fun little game. But be real, you're not playing this for excellent metroidvania mechanics. You're playing this for the jiggly idle animations, tiddies, and peak monster design.

The good:
1) The artwork is very cute.
2) The core movement mechanics are good. The combat is good-ish. It's simple and that's fine.

The bad:
1) There is no tracker to see how many gacha coins, chests, secrets, etc. that you've found in an area. Chasing down all of the gacha coins for the achievement is super tedious for no reason.
2) Ranged attacks are a joke. Your main source of damage is your 3/4 hit combo which gets powered up as you do quests. Your ranged attacks don't get buffed unless you find an item.
2a) Speaking of powering up your attacks, your teacher doesn't tell you what's getting buffed. You just have to notice that your hits appear to be larger than before. No damage increase until near the end and when it is buffed, it still takes 2-3 full combos to kill the larger enemies. Even in the weakest areas of the game.
3) In certain scenes where you're male, your body is blue for some reason.
4) There's no gallery of the bosses/sub bosses.
5) HP/MP upgrades feel meaningless. Sure, you get more MP for the spells you aren't casting (a majority of the spells seem under-powered and not worth the cost in mana), but everything will 2-shot you as you go through the game into new areas, You don't get buffs to defense, you just get more HP because the enemies in tougher areas just do more damage.

Would I have gone back in time to stop myself from playing this game for 12 hours? No. Absolutely not. The monster girls are cute.

Early Access Review
So far with the content that's been released, the game is a blast to play. The Space Battles are very fun and can be really challenging if you're not paying attention to what you're doing. The "SHMUP" genre is still relatively new to me but this is
loads of fun. You go pew pew in space with either ashotgun, or sniper-like alternate attack. The Ground Battles are pretty typical of a standard tactics rpg, with an ultimate skill and normal unit-specific skills to use, I just hope they expand on what they already have going here. The 4 mantics that you can use have pretty basic attacks, two being ranged and the other two being melee (one beefy boi and a mantic pupper). The game offers so much, and I can't wait for more. Especially more Demi.

I'm pretty sure I've done everything and unlocked everything so far:
Gameplay: 9/10
The only reason you're playing the game, the "cinematic experiences": 10/10
The Writing: The Seven Words are used heavily in this game. I love it. 10/10
Demi: 10/10

I cannot express enough that anyone and everyone should pick this game up and play it. It was one of the first Metroidvania games I've ever had the pleasure of playing and now every game I've played afterwards pales in comparison. The sequel is BETTER. The music is amazing, the boss "chases"(?) right after defeating them are so challenging and equally frustrating. It feels good to beat a boss and to complete the game. This is masterpiece that everyone should be able to play.
