Is this a game I would recommend to anyone legitimately? No.

Genuinely would recommend staying away if you have any sort of spending/gambling problem. Same with any gacha, but still. The game has a lot of jank (though it's currently in the process of transferring publishers and may get much better), but the bugs are almost like a feature at this point. The story is really interesting if you actually pay attention to it and don't accidentally skip it (old publishers (Level Infinite/Tencent) made an auto skip of the first story.. there's a choice to auto skip to other 'chapters' but this one is forced and confuses so many new players). I only started playing because of the story and how interesting it was to me.

The way this game was handled by global publishers and how the original developers in China are going to continue to and will take over publishing will probably change the outcome of how well the game does in the future. But for now it is an enjoyable little hellhole that I will continue playing as long as I can.

Very entertaining game that's more of a comedy than a horror if you play with friends (how you should play). Tons of fun mods available online as well that spice up the game if you start feeling like it's a bit repetitive. 10/10 game to goof off on and have a good bad time
