Hey, you. Yeah, Yeah, You!

Do you want a short Puzzle game that has amazingly good Humor, and actually plays well in 2024? Pick this game up and enjoy it.

In all seriousness, I'm not even really sure what to really say about this game that likely hasn't already been said by a several dozen of thousands of other people already. GLaDOS is hilariously funny, The puzzle solving is fun if not a bit mind bending at times, especially with how the portals work and...basically no super glaring microtransactions unlike Stereotypical FPS number 4012314 over there.

The only problem is that it's short. But honestly if the only bad thing I can say about a game is, "More Please?" And that bad thing gets addressed with a really FUN sequel? ...I'd say it's top notch.

This game is Hard Nostalgia in a Tin Can for me, so you might expect me to be a bit Wishy Washy knowing that...and..you might be right. But when it comes to this game, I feel like It ultimately doesn't matter if that's a right or wrong assumption to make.

Sure this game's Graphics (ESPECIALLY IN CUTSCENES) have aged HORRENDUSLY (The DX port didn't help matters any.)...but honestly I feel like that fact only makes them even more Oddly Charming, especially when you consider when this was made. And yeah..this game has some pretty incredible ammounts of Jankyness...

But when you get past all of that you'll find a pretty fun and (mostly) competent 3D Platformer with an actually...pretty interesting Story once you get past the horribly aged Cutscenes. Would definately reccommend at least a full playthrough of the story once. (...Just don't go out of your way to do Mission mode. And Also treat getting 130 Emblems with your own Discression.)

Even though it's just in Beta, it has amazing Potental.

And although it's a pain to use, once you learn how to effectively use it, it's one of the funnest things...EVER.

Even though I haven't made any animations with it yet, I've still made things with it before. (And by things I mean Images)

It Pains me to Edit This Review and have to recommend against this game, because this game is OUTSTANDING and seriously deserves more than Valve has been lifting even a pinky to do anything with. You could consider that the...TL;DR version of this edited review in all honesty. Though I would more consider this a Full out rewrite since the previous review was ♥♥♥♥...but I digress.

For those who Somehow aren't in the know Team Fortress 2 is a Class-Team Based First Person Shooter with a Cartoony almost pixar-esque artstyle. (Though don't let that deceive you as there's PLENTY of Gore to Go around, this ain't Splatoon.) The basics of the game are rather simple, you enter a match, pick one of 9 of the playable classes...pick a loadout (if you have any extra weapons that is) And you frag out in one of the many game modes the game has to offer. ....Okay admittedly me saying that is an over simplified version of it as there's ALOT more to this game than what it seems on the Surface.

For start, though you probably know this if you've seen...ANY of the memes around this game...the game's full of personality and color unlike a good majority of FPSes out there. You've got the Cocky manchild, Scout. You've got the Practically CRIMINALLY insane Patriot, Soldier. The Calm and collected, Engineer...the list goes on. The Characters in this game are partially what makes this game stick out among the rest of it's FPS peers.

The OTHER thing that makes it stand out is the incredibly..INCREDIBLY High Skill ceiling, I've played this game for the betterment of 3000 Hours at this point...And I've STILL Not gotten anywhere near close being the most outstanding player in this game. THAT'S how big the Skill Ceiling is. And this isn't even mentioning the different Weapons that (for the most part) all aren't direct upgrades and instead serve as different Side-grades to the stock weapons you start off with, with their own strengths and weaknesses. This game is such a gold mine of outstanding glory and this game was released in 2007! And It's free?!

Sweet lord! Why would any one not reccommend this game?? I hear you asking if you aren't already in the know...and unfortunately alot of what I just said comes with a HUGE Caveat. And a plethora of Problems that Valve has been ignorant about.

The First Big thing...The last major update to this game came out in....2017. ..Yeah, It's been 6...YEARS since we've gotten any more real content outside of New Cosmetics. The Second Big thing The game might have a High Skill Ceiling...but it also has a pretty..steep Skill floor as well, meaning it can be pretty difficult to grasp what's going on if you're making the jump to this game. Not to say that It's impossible mind you...but it's still a pretty nasty thing to deal with, especially given that there aren't any GOOD tutorials in the game itself, to help new players get a better Idea of what you can do in this game.

But that all PALES in comparison to two major Problems that have been PLAGUING this game. THE BOTS. AND VALVE THEMSELVES. To Start...as of writing this Re-Review Casual mode...I.E the one Main mode that most people might gravitate towards when they first play the game...is Currently UNPLAYABLE, because of these Sniper Bots with Aim Bot that people make SPECFICALLY to ruin the game and kick actual human players to try and make the game die. Honestly to those people who make these stupid things, I have one thing to say to you. ♥♥♥♥. YOU.

The other Major Problem is Valve themselves. Due to how the company Operates..it effectively means that there's only at the very least one or two people actually WORKING on the game itself, meaning there's no way any major content will be releasing ANY reasonable time soon...No way of actually getting rid of the Bots...and compounded by the fact that they've basically been Radio Silent ever since jungle inferno came out...has led to this effect where the game has basically stagnated and is currently on LIFE support and Community support just to keep afloat!

Geez..I probably should end this review before it turns into even more of a rant. Anyway, as it stands I personally cannot reccommend playing this game myself, as unless something changes with Valve themselves..this game is gonna remain in it's current state...perhaps forever until the plug is pulled on it...whenever that is. Though If you still want to play the game...I can't stop you..Just don't sink that much money into this game. Valve needs to get their ♥♥♥♥ together SOMEHOW and throwing money at them isn't helping us get there.

So you may have already seen that I've made a review on this game. MAYBE. If you haven't..then don't worry you didn't miss out on anything. But if you have, then you probably remember that my old review was ♥♥♥♥, and was made from the mind of a young boy who could not spell to save his life. (Seriously, "I can't Blaim"? I mean come on) So I'm redoing this Review to the best of my ability.

Anyway, to get on with it..what can I really say about GMOD that hasn't already been stated likely numerous times at this rate, not to mention the Animations and Memes from it kind of just, speak for themselves?

Well I suppose I can start by saying..it's a Physics Sandbox that used to be a Mod for Half-life 2 that was eventually nominated by Valve to become it's own standalone game that, still requires a bunch of games to be mounted or even asset mods that add all of the stuff to even use some specific maps...CS:Source being the most prominent example of this. In fact I'll just say that this part is likely going to be the make or break thing for this game. If you don't wanna buy or get the content packs for whatever games you need the stuff for, then don't bother. But I assume most people on steam don't have an issue with either given how popular this game is still.

Anyway, as you may be not so surprised to learn...the thing that's the very life blood of this game, are the mods and the steam workshop and how many different mods exist for various different purposes, and while I can't possibly list every mod..I can give a few examples of what you can kind of expect if you're just going into this blind after reading my review (Somehow). For starters you have mods that add various weapons either from video games or even just original creations that aren't really based on anything, you have Model ports, Entire gamemodes, Maps that recreate specific games or fit for doing sandbox stuff, NPCs and Bosses, A ambient Music player, And..faaarrr too many crappy FNAF Saves because apparently kids these days don't know how to press F12 on their keyboard. (No shade at the Five nights at Freddy's Community..I'm just throwing it out there.)

So what do you do in GMOD? ...Well...look at what the Workshop has to offer, as well as the many default models and tools that load into your game by default, and well, make your own fun out of it. You can explore maps, pose ragdolls for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ screenshots (I'm guilty of this myself), Create rockets to blast yourself to the skybox, Spawn Mr. X and have him hunt you down in a Maze..the list goes on..and on, and on. There's no real set objectives here. It's everyman for himself here and honestly I like that. One day I could feel like making a scene with Ragdolls, and another day I could decide to see how long I can live against a horde of Zombies.

And that's just the tip of the Iceberg of what's possible with this game, and honestly I don't think I could even do this game enough justice by making a review like this...the best way to enjoy this game is just to see what insanity you can cook up by just screwing around with what you're given either from the workshop or just be default. And honestly, I don't think I'd have it any other way.
