If you want a single reason to play this, then here it is: It's a good game.

It's music is phenomenal. The worlds are beautiful and fun to explore. The shooting is one of the best gunplay experiences I've had (The only other similarly good game I've tried in this is DOOM 2016). Plenty of updates and content constantly happens.

This isn't a perfect experience to be sure. Bungie struggles to find a way to balance having meaningful and useful rewards from some activities without making other activities obsolete. Inventory management can be a pain, and most regular Destiny players will have a website/app (Destiny Item Manager) open to help. Many smaller issues that are just annoying enough to ruin the constant gameplay loop that I enjoy.

But these issues don't ruin the game or my enjoyment of it. I make a hard recommendation on this for everyone to try since it's free. Don't spend money on DLC unless you're sure you enjoy playing this game.

P.S. After completing the first mission, new players won't be told where to go (Despite having access to most of the game). You can playthrough the campaigns by going to a vendor at the Tower called Amanda Holliday all the way on the right side of the map (In the Hangar).
