One of the worse Total War games by far.

Half 60% of all playable races/lord are locked behind DLC content (~150€), and there are barely any races you can play together with your friends without having to pay an additional 10€ for a DLC (If you have more than one friend to play with, only Kislev and Bretonnia have 2+ Lords. Then there are Cathay with 2, Khorne with 2 and Nurgle with 2 playable lords if you only have one other friend.)

Other than the disappointing selection in playable lords after spending 25-60€ on this 2 year old game, (for which they still release DLC content actively), there are only 3-4 campaigns, two of which are very short (~3-10 hours each). Combined with the lack of playable lords, the game becomes stale very quickly if you want to play with friends.

The world is filled with uninteractable lore points, which don't give you any interesting stats or effects for being in your territory. You'll have a shrine dedicated to Ursun while playing Kislev, have a huge marker above it to read the lore, but not have any way to interact with it (via any bonus effects or special buildings). Makes me question the inclusion and effort spent besides simply lore dumping.

As for the battles, a lack of options for (special) formations, like in other games, makes you feel like most fights are simply a stat check. You can cheese the AI slightly by using cavalry to distract troops and use artillery to kite, but other than that even terrain barely gives noticable gameplay advantages.

It's fun to play in a gaming landscape with barely any good games to play with friends, but that isn't saying much. I've been enjoying my time with it so far, but there are some short comings. I wish the game would at least have more than 2 playable factions for a party of 3-4 friends, without the need to buy a bunch of DLCs, especially when the base game is that expensive.
