Just like the original, one of the if not the best game of its time, and a MASSIVE upgrade from Remake. I didn't think an improvement of this caliber was even possible considering the quality of Remake. Sometimes being proven wrong is fantastic. Hopefully Square will get around to fixing any remaining issues with the PC port soon, because everyone deserves to experience this masterpiece.

How is one of the very first RPGs in the history of computing machines still one of the very best RPGs in the history of gaming? I'll tell you why: Rogue is not just a spelunking RPG, it is also a detective investigation game. Potions, scrolls, wands and most anything you find in these dark depths withhold their mysteries, and your longterm survival WILL depend on your ability to deduce not just exactly how they work, but also how to make optimal use of them.

Really damn good. Be sure to go into the DLC with a mentality to think flexibly and use all the tools the game provides to give you or an advantage, though. Don't be bullheaded about insisting on a certain playstyle while expecting the game not to give you a miserable experience because it certainly will in that case. You will find your enjoyment in Elden Ring EITHER through equipping yourself minimally for the fights and then really pushing your own skills to survive OR by analysing the game and preparing as well as you can for each given situation the game throws at you, depending on which type of player you are. But regardless of which kind of player you are, the game WILL occasionally force you to adapt, by dabbling in the opposite playstyle to maxmimize your advantage.

RimWorld strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and complexity and is utterly addicting. This is one of the best games ever made.

While admittedly a bit rough to get into at first, this game has surprising depth once you've gotten into it. I've been playing it on and off now for roughly half a year without paying anything at all and my enjoyment so far has only steadily increased. I'm at a point right now where I'm actually considering spending some money in the MTX store, not because I particularly want or need anything in there, but because I feel like the game has actually given me a lot of entertainment and I want to show some support. I think this is about the highest praise you can give to a free-to-play gacha title like this one. I dearly hope the game will keep on turning until they get around to adding some of the more esoteric chapters of the compilation of FF7 such as Before Crisis.

A worthy spiritual successor to the original Microprose X-Com/UFO Defense, this game boasts a much deeper and realistic simulation model than the more recent Firaxis intepretations, while still providing a somewhat more streamlined and simple interface than more faithful remakes like Xenonauts. Getting better and deeper with each added update, this game deserves a deep dive by anyone who's a fan of the genre. Ability to think outside the box and look for new ways forward when frustration threatens to set in are critical in this game, though, as what at first glance very much seems like a clone or even ripoff of the Firaxis XCOMs in fact is in many ways quite different, and requires different ways of thinking to succeed.

Has the potential to be the best CRPG ever released, once the bugs and the more glaring design issues are fixed. The designers of this game have taken the time to do the design right, although the game is somewhat lacking in the information feedback/quality of life departments.

This game has more charm and personality than most genres can muster over their entire lifespan. Gameplay is tight and well-designed, but the combination of action with real time strategy tends to strike a certain kind of player as a bit... unorthodox. If you don't have a serious problem with tactical games though, there is nothing to hate about this game and everything to love.
