generally a pretty good albeit dated shooter. kinda surprising that there wasnt even any kind of patch to add widescreen options to the menu 20+ years after launch, but thats just activision caring about their games i guess. easy to work around thru config editing.
the health bar system is pretty neat even if the medkits can be in pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up spots occasionally, and your teammates tend to get in the way occasionally but are generally somewhat useful.
multiplayer is DEAD as far as im aware, there are maybe one or two severs active at any given time.
the "call of duty warchest" bundle is actually a pretty reasonable price, since you get cod1/2 + uo expansion for just £20 which i had no problem with and is how i bought these games. definitely worth getting that bundle to play these.

if youre just gonna get one of the dlcs, get nyakuza metro instead. arctic cruise only has 4 levels which really arent anything special, and death wish doesnt really justify it. its still kinda worth playing if you get all the dlc together (as part of the ultimate edition for instance) but on its own its just not worth it. get nyakuza metro instead.

the better dlc. just in general. if youre looking into buying dlc you probably already enjoy the base game (or are buying the ultimate edition) and the gameplay doesnt change up a lot past the existence of the cat trains in the chapter itself.
online party is peak for bullying your friends around (if you have any) but otherwise doesnt do much in the context of this dlc in particular. if you dont care about nyakuza and just want to do some stuff online maybe get vanessas curse instead.

blue shift really doesnt add much or do much compared to opposing force but i feel like its still a good expansion to the original game. if youre JUST gonna get one of the expansions make it opposing force, but its worth getting both

incredible game fr, literally one of the best games ive ever played
maybe not worth the full price, and definitely made better by nyakuza metro (seal the deal kinda sucks in comparison)
but its such a good game if you dont care about achievements and dont want to do death wish. if that is not the case and you decide to do death wish for the achievements i hope you get well soon

the zombies goes hard as ♥♥♥♥ but the story and characters in the campaign are LAUGHABLY bad. at least being able to play it coop made it funnier though.
havent played much multiplayer myself but overall wait for a big ass sale and get it for zombies alone if youre particularly into the mode

its like if they took the original game and made everything way shinier than it needed or should have been and then said ♥♥♥♥ it open world. but this time it actually works imo i can spend hours just running from place to place long after beating the game.
worth noting that they completely killed off time trials and other ugc, which to me makes no sense (this game isnt even 10 years old!!) and this also makes 100% achievements impossible now so if thats a dealbreaker to you: first, get some help, second, dont get this game for achievements
the artstyle is. basically non existent compared to the original, everything feels way too shiny and some areas just dont make any sense geometry wise
you should not give a single ♥♥♥♥ about the story, same with the original, just play it for the gameplay lol

easily the better of the two expansions and adds a good amount of content compared to blue shift, if youre JUST gonna get one of the expansions make it this one but its definitely worth getting both.
