havent even finished this games content yet and i gotta say just dont.

the mission mode ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks ass with a REALLY strange difficulty curve (looking at you bullet hail 2)
bonus content isnt worth it, alternate characters arent really worth the time (except obviously knuckles in s3k), and the game needs a mod (ultrafix) to be properly playable in the first place
also the menu islands seem to use some kind of taa, presumably just to spite me personally.

there's nothing here that s1f, s2a, cdr, air cant give you, and those are literally all free (for cd you can use the free android version to supply the decomp with a data file, then put cdr on top of it)

also no peelout in s1 / s2 makes me unhappy

i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate blender man,

turn voices off, skip all cutscenes, and you can have a pretty good time with this game.
i dont know what happened at sonic team but the writing and va direction is beyond saving.
my worst experiences with this game were one level that had the 5th red ring right before an (almost) unavoidable checkpoint, so missing it required playing the whole level again, and several instances of the game simply not teaching its mechanics (specifically: when to use the kick) properly. i dont know if they put them in the little hints that pop up because often times the hints were super simple things like "use a homing attack to cross the gap" like no ♥♥♥♥. but i just never bothered opening them for that reason.
100% completion isnt hard whatsoever, but it is quite tedious and time consuming since you have to do all 100 missions (each of which has a steam achievement tied to it).
shoutout those rail levels loved those

VERY good game, though the final horizon update has THE sharpest difficulty spike of the entire game, just for the event its supposed to prepare you for to be far easier.
the base games ending is unfortunately underwhelming, but final horizon's "another story" has a far more satisfying ending.

dont go for 100% on tbogt it is such a soul crushing experience :(
took me 207 hours to hit 100% steam achievements which is kinda wild

its a steam deck tech demo playable with a regular steam controller

segas decisions continue to astound me
