I really enjoy trying out indie titles and supporting small devs. The ideas that come from these people are sometime the most unique things in gaming. This game however falls flat for me. It's got nothing to do with the text base gameplay and very minimal, yet complex UI. It's the fact that I can't play the game. When I go to start a new game, it loads to 20% every time then freezes. No, I don't have an anti-virus stopping it. I have to close out the game to then its some how already a save file in my load games. I go to play the game and I'm in game. Ok that's not that bad I can play right? Well why is it that when I go into battles, I can only manually control the game until the start round button bugs out and the only thing I can do from that point is sim the match? I don't want to sim the match. That's absolutely boring and not why I want to play. I will just return this game it's not even worth the sale price with such game breaking bugs. you tried/10

I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for Christmas from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just, watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. loaded into the game, made my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. loved it as it was the best time had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a special type of game. It's really well made, and a lot of love was put into it. But I must warn you, this is not for the casual player. I don't consider my self incredibly casual, and especially not a "pro-gamer" but I feel like I have skill playing most combat oriented games. The combat in this game is unforgiving, and the saving system is just as bad (consumable save items are so out-dated and were never fun). Shooting a bow is like chucking a spear across the way and hoping for a headshot. I grinded through these mechanic until I just couldn't deal with them anymore so I decided to check some mods out on Nexus. This is where my second major gripe comes from. Mods are supposed to help you get past some of those difficulty curves, and KC:D's mod scene showed up and helped for sure. Back in 2018. Every mod that I have attempted to download and use through Vortex in 2022 has refused to load in the game, constantly stating that they all are either missing files or are full of redundant programs. I've probably spent over 10 hours attempting to get mods for this game to work, but there is no mod support. I really hope the studio makes a similar game, but either tones down the games innate difficulty, or actually allow the game to have mod support through the game it's self.

This game has potential, but one of the most frustrating RTS to date. Clunky UI and pathing, fences are nigh near useless since you can't actually block off regions from other regions with them. Infection rate on the map is so quick even on the lowest difficulty setting. The game crashes any time you try to do something unexpected, like load a previous save or just go to the main menu. The developers are very ambitious on this title, but it's so clunky and buggy I don't ever see it being fully realized as a finished product.

Update May 2023: This game continues to drastically change when I decide to launch it. The main menu is an absolute mess and game play is no better than it was previously. Clunkiest mechanics in the world. My pilot is commanded to leave his helicopter yet there he is sitting his ass in the ♥♥♥♥ pit being useless. DO NOT BUY THIS CRAPPY GAME. I'd return it if I could.

This game is fun. I only really like to play it by myself because when I go to custom public servers, they can be overwhelmed with other players. If you have friends you enjoyed playing minecraft with, and want a spooky zombie version, this is the game for you. You create vehicles, loot buildings, make strong holds, survive every 7th day, and almost every time I launch the game, the devs have added a few new building types and POIs. The game is very much so still thriving with communities and developer updates. This game is always a reliable boot-up for a time waster. I recommend downloading the King Gen world generator and figuring out how it works rather than using the inefficient in-game one. Also, when you are creating your new worlds, just let the game load. It takes a while and when you interrupt it, even with a mouse click, it'll crash the game. It's processing a ton of data while building the world so just go make a snack or something while it loads.

Please read my full review to understand my thumbs down.

This game is a lot of fun. It's got a lot going for it, the devs are clearly full of ideas. There are issues how ever that really grind my gears.

I've made at least three different survival attempts, my best one getting past season 100. Growing your city is not difficult, but keeping your population alive and happy is near impossible. Resources dwindle extremely quickly. Even when I bumped the scrap meter to High (meaning the map is basically covered in scrap) I still struggle to keep up with scrap productions. The fact that the only way to get Plastic, Metal, and cloth early game is to recycle Scrap, a non-renewable resource, is really frustrating. Still, I don't know how to collect Plastic and Metal without using scrap which, by the way, is a resource for building on it's own. Finding Hemp seeds to create your own cloth is a complete crap shoot. Finding seeds in general is the luck of the draw with RNGesus, and when an entire resource that is needed to keep your survivors protected is bound behind that RNG, it really ruins the game for me.

Raiders are a great idea, but their tributes are way too much. They seem to know when my resources are low and demand my most valuable things such as protection gear, water, and cloth. When I am barely keeping up with those resources as it is, it makes appeasing them almost impossible. The way that the research function works by taking knowledge points AND resources strap you even further. You have to unlock defenses from the Raiders, which takes resources, then you must build them, which takes even more resources. Your watch towers are completely useless without ammo, so you must also build an ammo factory and then dump even more dwindling resources into it to make a few bullets.

There is no way to combat radiation in this game. It's the most dangerous thing in this game, since it not only makes your settlers sick but also infertile. As the season go on, rain and weather push radiation into the area. Sometimes you'll get a dust storm that not only drops a ton of radiation, but damages your buildings. This brings us back to the resource issue. When your builds are damaged, they work half as hard and when they are struggling to make resources at full capacity, there's no way to fix them at that point. The way to remove ground radiation is to use a tool that highlights all the radiation and your builders go about to each and every square to dig up the radiation. Not only is this time consuming, but by the time you get one part of the area clean, it's hit with more roving radiation making your efforts useless. At around season 50 I've noticed there's about 5-10 seasons of straight yellow (2nd highest level of radiation) that just sits on the entire map. I've had up to 30 builders trying to remove radiation from the town to no avail. It's basically a useless command to give them since they will build buildings, fix them, then go after radiation. There is an option to change the importance of what they should do first but it doesn't help either. I believe the Radiation mechanic is just broken.

In the end, this game is fun but needs a lot of refinement. I like a good challenge but when my most important resources are at a flat 0 no matter what I do to try to compensate and build them up works, it feels like I'm just wasting my time. I have faith the devs will work out these issues, but I'd wait a while longer before getting this game.

Would I recommend this game? No probably not. Kalypso attempted to take Tropico to the next level on this game and failed miserably. This game is much clunkier than it's predecessors, and because they put it on consoles, PC controls are all kinds of wonky. I have well over a hundred hours into Tropico 4, and a few hours into Tropico 5 on the PS4. I was hoping the PC version would be better but it sure is not. Just play Tropico 4 if you want a fun game.

EDIT: I just realized I was playing the 40v, which makes me wonder about this dev and still regret my purchase. I will try the game now on 41 but first impressions only happen once.

I can't say I enjoy this game. After watching a number of youtubers play this game, I decided to get it on the Autumn sale. I'm into challenging games of survival, and this for sure looks like a survival version of the Sims. I was pretty disappointed in combat, and moodles tell you bare minimum info. Don't even get me started with the inventory system. It's easily the jankiest system for a survival game I've ever experienced. Movement is clumsy, and worst of all there are game breaking bugs. I recently loaded my last save only to come back to a Zombie. I looked around online for what happened, and turns out this is a persistent bug they said they thought they fixed and "was going to fix again" almost a year ago. Really wish I hadn't gone past my 2 hour limit with this game, serious buys remorse even at $10.

Get ready for buggy game play, dated inventory and map systems, and repeated one liners! CHEEKI BREEKI! Don't forget to smash that MF F6 button regularly and download the QOL mod that fixes half the game. I'm excited to see what they do for STALKER 2!
