Early Access Review
Lethal Company is most easily surmised as just good fun. It's very easy to understand, it runs great, it's easily modded, and despite not having a truly insane amount of content- it frankly doesn't really need much. But in truth, it's more than *just* good fun. It's able to straddle the line between simplistic joy and overtly humorous to genuine tension and horror as you have to make the racking decision between abandoning your hard earned scrap to avoid a nightmarish death of violent and foreign aliens that wish nothing more than to hunt you down for entering their territory. This game is the stories you make with your friends, the death defying chases in the darkness that's hunting the two of you down when your walkie has run out of juice and your flashlights running dead as you both desperately try to remember the path out, the noble (or comedic failed) sacrifices made to ensure that everyone makes it out but one has to die for the necessary profit quota, the crushing silence as you've lost all communication with your fellow scrappers, every creak is terror and every corner is death, or your lobotomite friend jumping off a landmine to kill the only person who actually remembered how to get out after the Aparatice was taken out just damning your helpless scrappers to their doom. You will never be prepared enough, but the company demands profit, and you pursue the demand of the quota. The question is, will you be efficient enough to make your quota? Or are you going to die on some God forsaken moon? Or perhaps some other, even crueler fate awaits you out there in the depths of profit machine.
This game is great, and for ten dollars you can play with three other friends; and with the easiest to install mod you can run with as many friends as you want.
