Been playing this game for on and off about 8 years now, figured it was about time I reviewed it.

It's a difficult game, put yourself in that mindset when you begin. You're going to die often and it's going to feel like you're helpless. Then suddenly it clicks, you start surviving and winning fights, sometimes unscathed. Stick with it.

My advice is to play the Arena mode to get used to the combat as you can fight back to back to back and actually practice without losing the will to live (and all your progress with it). Once you're feeling semi-ok, then give the story mode a go and see how you get on. Personally I tend to get more value from the arena mode anyway.

Whenever a patch finally comes out, I fall in love all over again as each patch tends to be meaty and gives you loads of new toys to play with. Each update has always pushed the game forward in a great direction and I love Bare Mettle for always surprising me with each path they go down.

Can't wait for the the final product!

Brilliant game with infinite replay-ability. Don't overthink it, buy it and try for yourself!

Great game best left as a mystery. Highly recommend to someone that's looking for an immersive single player experience. If you have a few bones to spare, spend 'em!

Fun and immersive. I was a huge fan of Disco Elysium but couldn't really find anything else that scratched the itch. While different in multiple ways, the text based game play was spot on.

Fun game to play on your own that's only getting better, community is kinda horrible though. Probably worth making your profile hidden.

The game is very dependent on perks, so expect your first 10-15 hours played full of frustration. As well as this a lot of the good perks are behind a pay wall so i'd recommend buying on a sale to make up for all of the perk's you'll eventually have to buy.

There's no reward to getting to rank 1, only real reward is how difficult the games might be and getting away from the people that want to meme you and ruin your day which tend to be low-mid ranked in my experience.

Overall I'd recommend the game on sale, fun to keep coming back to if you're bored and can't think of what else to play, good time waster.

Cute art with cute characters, concept sounds quite fun but in practice it's just chore after chore. You need X to build Y, and you need ABC to create X, all the while the repetitive same 3 songs play over and over I had to mute it. I hoped if I grit my teeth and just kept going it would get better but the whole experience was very tedious.

I can only recommend it if you have time to kill in between playing games, or perhaps if it's on sale. On a BIG sale.
