Very much what i hoped this game would be like. Massive world to explore, lots of power-ups and tools to gather and use, fun characters, and, of course, plenty of boss fights, all on top of a reasonable price.
I'd highly recommend, on your first play through at least, to take the time to search every nook and cranny to discover all the stuff within (remember the golden rule of metroidvania, if a wall or ceiling looks even slightly off, check it)
A word of warning:
This game handles very differently from the First game. By now you've already seen reviews of it being "too hard"
This is due to balance. Unlike Little Ghost (AKA The Knight) from Hollow Knight 1. Hornet is much more a glass cannon. She has multiple movement options to keep her mobile and dodge around but this is balanced out by her taking higher damage.
This is not a negative criticism on my own part, i figured it would be the case, i just wanted to give fair and CLEAR warning
Also if you're playing this immediately after the original game, you'll find it a bit rough getting used to the new dive. However, once you get used to your movements you'll be flying across the map with little to no effort.
All and all I'm glad Team Cherry took their time to make the game they have. the many years it took was well worth it in my eyes.

While i understand some folks here have issues with performance, hunt time, and content, I feel i need to give my peace.
first off, many of these reviews on performance seem to stem from people who are pushing their entire system to the absolute limit already. ANY game will have performance issues under that kind of streign. i'm running this game on an Nvidia 3080 LAPTOP on medium graphics. at most, all i get is the rarely occational frame drop on the start menu ONLY. otherwise it runs fine once the game actualy gets started
Secondly, on the hunt time front these fights we get currently are just HIGH RANK. normal to high ranks hunts in each game have notoriously been short. its only after DLC is released that includes G/master rank and higher that the real chaos ensues, so review bombing over this feels very premature.
third, this game is still getting updates to ADD more monsters and content FREE, unlike some games now adays that throw you a third the game, then lock any kind of additional content behind a massive paywall.
All and all. I'd still recommend folks at least TRY the game for themselves on medium graphics first, BEFORE jacking your graphics to the point you're watching live action instead of a game engine.
Give games like this time to cook and they often suprise you.

Simple top, down shooter/moba game. Can be pretty fun if you like games like Spiral Knight, League of legends, or Dota.

Beautiful scenery, awsome story, music, and combat... and a cute, funny little nimbat i just can't get enough of. X3
