They've made a lot of improvements since the original demo and now as a purchasing customer I can say I enjoy most of the game. But please for everything that is good and holy make it easier to not get hit-box trapped by spiders. I understand not being able to run past a skeleton or a berserker but to try to jump over 2 spiders and then get stuck on top of them as monsters beat you to death in multiple dungeon runs is infuriating. Axe the spiders hit-boxes because I sometimes literally cannot axe the spiders once they are beneath me. Aside from that. Addicting game. Extremely punishing environments. 7/8 spider legs.

There was a solid at least 15 years where I didn't play any collection games like this. From like PMon Ruby + Sapphire for the gboy til like 2 years ago. Then I played Arceus for the switch. Arceus fell flat for me after a week. Constantly felt like I had too little to do with outside of just catching in the game. This game actually kept me very busy and very engaged. I enjoyed this.

As someone who was never able to get into strategy games, this was a pretty good entry for me in my late twenties. I played Halo 2 & 3 a bit with friends when I was younger and the character attributes/bonuses/interactions within the game did a good job of keeping me entertained with my bad adhd. Campaign was fun and progressively challenging. Tutorial moved a little slow but wasn't too lengthy. Make sure to check the control screen out as the tutorial gives you a good basis but doesn't tell you everything that you can do to make the gameplay more fluid both with pre-set controls and temporary in game customization of pre-sets to control different units. Learn to lock your trained units in your bases and let exterior turrets take care of you early, use base and global rally points, and don't let your hornets go in as early as they want to if you're going to be daring enough to command all units at once toward a pin. They will all get bopped. I really enjoyed this and it might get me to try dorking around with a couple other sci-fi strats.

I am pretty critical about a lot of games but this game impresses me over and over. The amount of work put into a game with this kind of story is actually a little mindblowing. I don't want to spoil anything but the gameplay movement is fluid, intuitive, and most importantly~I N C O N S E Q U E N T I A L-aka FUN. Run directly into certain death whenever you want because whoever was in charge of checkpoints in this game is an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ G.
