There is a lot to talk about.

On the May 17, 2023 the game came out in early access and had limited content, but it was fun and people had a blast playing STE. The performance was pretty solid for a game which just launched. At this time the game was using Unreal Engine 4.27. The players were happy and having a good time killing bugs. The price in early access was 24,99 euro which is okay i would say, depends on the game. Reviews were very positive and i haven't seen many people complaining on forums. Even the graphics and animations were pretty good compared to now.


On the May 17, 2023 the downfall has begun. They came up with the smart idea to upgrade the engine from Unreal Engine 4.27 to Unreal Engine 5.2.1. This was by far the worst decision they have ever made. The update was like a nuke, it ruined everything. The performance, the fun, the gameplay, the bugs. It killed the whole game. People started having major issues like game crashes, PC freezes, extremely low fps on high end PC's. No matter how good your PC is, you will most likely have issues running this game. The community got pretty upset which is totally understandable because almost no one was able to play this game. So the game almost died and dropped from 12k on launch to 300-500 players.


11 Oct, 2024, the game finally launched as "full release" for 49 Euro - People were hyped but didn't expect too much because we've all seen what the devs did to our boy. They killed him almost. The update dropped, people launched their game and noticed right away the performance is still beyond unplayable for most users and most of the game breaking bugs were still there.
They've added a new map which is locked behind a "company" - Which means you gotta join a company if you want to play the new map. Alright, the issue was joining a company didn't work for a long time so most people couldn't even play the new map. Very smart idea devs.


The solo campaign is the worst "campaign" i have ever seen. Its just 25 CTRL C + CTRL V missions. All you do is run from point A to B, kill some bugs and thats it. Over and over. They wasted so much budged on this. Its not fun, its not interesting and they wasted Casper Van Dien time. They've used his voice for the "campaign" - Casper Van Dien is an amazing human being and he should've a better role than this.


People who bought this in EA got nothing for testing their broken product but when the game launched they gave new console players skins for free and added buyable skins for almost 10 euro. So new players get free rewards and game testers get nothing? Thanks for nothing i guess.


So they had so much time to listen to the community, to fix the bugs, glitches and crashes. People posted their issues, their wishes, their problems. Did the devs listen to what we had to say? Most of the times they didn't. They had a small group of people testing their game in a closed build. And those people were resposible for the lack of communication. They suggested the most unnecessary features instead of trying to fix the game before adding content. Who did the devs listen to, to thousands of people having issues or to a small group of people testing their product? Right, the small group. I had an issue which made my game unplayable since UE5 dropped and its still not fixed for example.


I've played bunch of games in my 30 years but i've never seen so many people getting banned for actual critique or feedback. As i posted at the top of my post, the game literally gets bad reviews because of abusive moderators and devs. The game is already dead and barely works and now they decided to ban the last remaining 300 players.

To be fair, i was doing my part and i had an awesome time playing this game daily till UE5 got released. Most people in the community feel that way. We begged them for so long to fix the game but they just won't listen. The most absurd part is, they doubled the price for a broken product. No one is gonna buy this when you can buy Helldiver 2 for less. Who cames up with these ideas? The devs should sell this IP to someone who actually cares about this franchise. I did my part and told them every bug i've found, every crash i had i posted my log. Yet almost nothing changed.

Overall this is just sad situation for everyone who loves this franchise.
