Chat filter in this game that is more restrictive than ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wizard101. I can't say a single curse word or use the word "bad" or "stupid" in a sentence. These developers are not real, oh wait, that's a banned phrase in this game.

Definitely not as good as D:OS 2 but I think it's still worth playing in 2023. The combat system is just different enough to be refreshing to play after multiple runs of the sequel; although it isn't as satisfying. There is a much greater focus on CC rather than damage and combos. The story is your generic "you are a god/almighty being" that is ultimately responsible for destroying the world's evil, but it's fairly well done. The side quests are decent enough; however, many of them are fetch quests. The most significant complaint I have with the game is that DOT's are OP and can completely wreck your party. Because of this, the thousands of fire and poison traps littered throughout the game are SO annoying. I would wait for a sale because while the game is still pretty fun at its high points, there is a lot of minor flaws that, when added together, ruin the game experience a little bit.

Overall, 8/10. Probably wouldn't play it again, but I was happy that I finally finished it after all these years.

I think the characters and overall story-line of this game is a bit better than P5R, but the QOL and game-play improvements in P5R make it the better game. If you don't mind the somewhat dated combat and relatively boring auto-generated dungeon design, I'd really recommend giving this game a try despite its age, especially if you liked any other Persona game. Most of my gripes with the game are simply when comparing the game to its sequel, which improved on an already excellent game in P4G.

Pros
+Fantastic story, especially if you haven't had any of the ending spoiled for you.
+Majority of social links are great.
+Great character cast. Compared to the Phantom Thieves, the Investigation Team feels much more like a group of friends and the various interactions throughout the game really fleshes them out as characters. I love the cast of P5R, but I think I might like P4G's cast a bit more.
+Game-play loop is still pretty good, even if its dated compared to P5R.
+Long game length. The game took me about 80 hours on my first play-through after completing all social links and getting to the True Golden ending.
+Many different endings.
+OST is amazing, especially in the later dungeons and the daytime themes.

Cons
-Not as much to do outside of social links. There is not as many side activities to do when compared to P5R, especially at night.
-Auto-generated dungeons are not as enjoyable to run through compared to P5R palaces.
-No baton pass and overall combat does not feel as satisfying as P5R.
-Some plot-holes, but nothing major.

Even today, I still think the game is a gem and worth playing, even after playing P5R first. A remake of the game with an updated combat system and palace-like dungeons would probably make it better than P5R tbh.

One of the best games I've ever played, especially great in the extra Royal semester.

Actual waste of time. I had fun for .2 seconds because of having ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful this game was that it made me laugh for a brief moment. If I paid for this game, I'd request a refund but at least it was free.

I'm sure the dev is an nice guy tho, nice try man.

My PC is extremely overkill for most games so my experience is likely different from most people. I ran the game at 120 fps on ultra settings without ray-tracing. The combat felt incredibly smooth and extremely fun. It wasn't as good of an experience as, for example, DOOM combat, but I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. The story and characters were, for the most part, memorable and well executed. Although I do agree that the game was over-hyped and a lot of the features were cut out due to lack of development time, at its core, Cyberpunk 2077 is a really good game that I believe will only get better as they release the free DLC and the expansions. Overall, I would rate the game a 9/10, a score that may get higher in the future as they continue to update the game.
