Combat design in this game is really good. Fast paced slashing through enemies with the additional depth of being able to switch stances is a pretty cool refresher. But that's where the positive side of the game ends.

The inventory and loot system is one of the most unbearable and boring mechanics in this game. Scrolling through your inventory and getting rid 90% of your loot is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb, why does it even exist if you're gonna discard it anyway? Game is just straight up boring if it comes to level design or lacks any atmosphere. For the past 5 hours I've been running either in some dumb caves, or dark villages. I can understand that devs strived for some gritty atmosphere but this game is just straight up unpleasant to look at and most of the levels feel and look just the same.

Tried to give this game a chance.
1st playthrough: encounters got bugged and I had to fall back to the previous zone to kill the rest of the enemies that I somehow missed. The interesting part about that is that I had to use two vehicle to make myself a makeshift stairs in order to go back into the previous zone, that's the moment I realised that I am in for the terrible ride.

2nd playthrough: game doesn't even want to launch at this point.

Very Good

Very, very short but fun demo to play. Even though its on Unreal Engine 5 (I think?) it really well mimicks the Source engine from such small things as main menu to the physics themselves. In Ravenholm demo everything that you're used to from Half-Life 2 is there: gravity gun from which you can throw boxes and kill enemies, pick up a saw blade and cut the enemy in half, explode zombies which start ragdolling etc.

The only negative thing for now is a performance and that's honestly why I am leaving the negative review here - to motivate the devs to improve on that aspect as well since the team is cooking something really interesting :)
