This game could've been a lot more.

Characters were good, mostly their development throughout the game.

OST is good - although, feels like their volume control was not the greatest, sometimes you just get blasted with epic music when you're just running in the overworld and it doesn't really fit.

Story wise, I think it was good up until the first Vholran fight and kinda just took a turn for the worse after. It felt very dragged out as I spent hours thinking I'm about to reach the final boss anytime soon just to discover I'm not quite there yet, eventually it got to the point I just decided to take the shortest path possible and skip through enemies/flee most encounters (because enemies just become way too tanky past some point and fighting one guy can take minutes) just so I can be done with it.

Combat was alright at first but got repetitive a bit too fast - basically hitting an enemy until a boost strike is available to instantly kill it.

Overall - I think the game is fine, it could have been better, but it's not bad.

Very good game. Enjoyable OST, graphics that remind me of amazing games from the past like Chrono Trigger, the story is pretty much your typical JRPG plot, but the character development was good.

However - I do want to list some issues I had with the game:

Crystals - Probably my main issue with the game. I feel like it's poorly explained and it's just a big headache to even try using them since you can finish the game without using crystals at all and can just claim money instead. If you know what you are doing, they are insanely powerful and can easily break the game if you can fit them to certain characters with the way they are meant to be played. I found myself not even trying to touch crystals until the "ultimate side boss" destroyed me, I went to farm crystals for like maybe an hour and beat it very shortly after. Speaking of crystal farming, that's also a point that felt negative to me:
First - It (the crystals) has a lot of randomness and it feels like the respawn is a bit too long for my liking.
Second - Farming them is an absolute waste of time until you basically reach the endgame and are able to target farm specific crystal types.

Puzzles - There were not many and they were pretty easy, Also, not many mechanics were introduced for said puzzles. They were still fun to solve, but I just hoped for a little more.

Gear and upgrades - It felt like an absolute waste to upgrade my weapons and armor because not very long after I spend the resources to upgrade them I instantly run into an upgrade. It basically made me just not bother with upgrading at some point and not changing my setup until I ran into a wall (which never really happened until the final sideboss).

Difficulty - While I am aware that difficulty does not make a game good or bad, I still personally enjoy games that present a challenge, I felt like the entire game was pretty easy to breeze through, the hardest part was basically the start of the game. Once you gain control of a certain support character and the Cleric class emblem which lets the character equipping it cast an AoE heal the game stops being difficult. The hardest side boss was also not very difficult, it was a tiny step above the rest of the game but still not hard.

Characters - The cast is very big, (that's a good thing.) however - I felt like I didn't really need any other character past the first original 7 that are introduced in the main story, so I just never used those. Also, some characters just felt like they have skills that are completely useless or were just completely counter intuitive with how the rest of the skills works.

Menu/controls - There's no option to get to the title screen for whatever reason? The game also does not mention that you can change the battle speed (or maybe I missed that) or skip cutscenes/dialogues. (you can)

Negative points aside, it's time to mention some of the positives:

Battle - Overdrive and overheat were a pretty cool system. Sky armor battles were designed pretty well with the exception of one. ( Maria the Valkyrie because mirror image is kinda bs ). Regular enemies felt pretty powerful, sometimes more than bosses, but it balanced out with being fully healed after every combat.

Clan - The clan system is pretty creative, easy way to get sidetracked and chase loot in areas for hours once you get the option that shows you how many unopened chests there are in the area.

Regardless of the negatives mentioned above (I think it's perfectly fine to like a game and still have issues with it) - I do strongly recommend the game. It gave me a very nostalgic feeling and felt like one of those games that were very dear to me when I was younger.

I'm a sucker for turn based games, and this game has satisfied a lot of my cravings for a new-ish turn based RPG to play.

The possible combination of skills and interactions between different elements makes up for so many possible builds and gives you a lot of replay value since you can't really use every possible skill in one playthrough.

The story is very rich, and there's a ton of lore to read through the books in game if you're a lore freak.

If you liked Baldur's gate 3, there's a good chance you will like this game as well and also vice versa. Do note however that these two games work a bit different when it comes to turns.

Probably my favorite souls-like, my only real complaint is the camera tends to go against you sometimes, but it's whatever. (and Demon of Hatred)

The combat flows very smoothly and is super enjoyable, and the final boss of this game is incredibly well made, no stupid gimmick, just fast paced gameplay that relies on the very basics taught to you by the game.

The story is nice, although you need to do quite a bit of work to get the good endings and it's not very obvious how to, but I guess the internet is a good enough resource to find out how to achieve the endings.

Definitely get this if you enjoy souls-like or if you like challenging combat!

Fun game, good OST. Sadly, even the hardest difficulty doesn't offer too much of a challenge and the game doesn't last very long.

The only thing I really hated about the game is that Charlotte's dialogue was very annoying all the way through and the fact Riesz is just a way better support than her despite being the so-called "dedicated support" of the game. Oh and also the fact you have to pick a different main character 2 more times to face the other 2 final bosses, at least new game plus kinda helps with that if you just want to rush the bosses.

Interesting story, lots of puzzles and fun boss fights. This game offers a lot for what it costs.

Also replay-able with new game plus, giving you access to new options like harder hitting enemies, more aggressive enemies, dying to damage in one hit and making enemies scale with your level in case you outleveled them. There are more options but these options can make the game a lot more challenging if you're looking for extra challenge. All in all very fun game.
