I would recommend this game.

Not played on Steam Deck because I doubt it will run.

My Settings

All settings were set to the highest available apart from ray-tracing as it was too big of a hit for not a lot of quality (was it even on)
FSR 3 Set to Quality. (side note: this is listed as FSR 3 but there is no frame generation at this time so really it's just FSR 2.2. As far as I can see it is the same for DLSS)

Average FPS 113 - 120 in wilderness with 60 fps in the city on UW not played at 4K yet.

The game looks, gorgeous graphically. Unlike DD:DA it doesn't look like a last gen game this time. However there are a few things that need some work. The TAA implementation is bad, without using FSR the game looks jaggie and has some very odd issues. FSR 3 with a good dose of sharpening does help with this however.

Game is super CPU heavy.

PORT QUALITY: HAS ISSUES

The port for this game is problematic, the CPU utilisation yoyo's a lot with the number of NPC's which can effect the frame rate significantly. However on the 7900 XTX the game is running really well for the most part in the first 4+ hours of the game. Now it is using almost 16GB of VRAM with max settings (No RT) at 3840x1600. Dropping the quality to low and 2560x1600 the game uses 13GB so it is very heavy on the VRAM. Though it is stable in it's usage so I don't think this is a VRAM leak.

Overall Capcom need to fix the frame rate issues when a lot of NPC's are on screen at once. Past that however I think it's actually not that bad, I've not had a single crash so far either.

HDR: BROKEN

This gets it's own section but the HDR implementation is just broken. Do not use it until they fix this because it looks horrible.

GAMEPLAY & STORY

The gameplay is solid, the combat is weighty and satisfying (I'm playing thief and so far haven't switched). Movement feels good and the player character feels responsive. I will say to make sure you really fine tune the movement animation though because I made my character walk and run a little too straight. But that can be fixed once I get to the city and buy a metamorphosis item.

I'm only 4 hours in so story wise I haven't seen much. But I'm interested and that's what matters. Cutscene's are well voiced both in the pre-rendered and in-game ones. Clicking a button to advance dialogue might annoy some people, I've been conditioned by FFXIV so it feels fine to me.

MICRO-TRANSACTIONS

Ahh the hot topic of this game. within the first camp I already found one of the MTX items for sale in the inn at a reasonable in-game price. While I won't pay for any of the MTXs I sort of get what they're for. People who don't have as much time to spend on the game can pay a little extra, if they want to, in order to progress faster. They're entirely optional. Why it's blown up so much for Dragons Dogma 2. RE4 had upgrade tickets, DMC5 had blue and red orbs and Exoprimal had early unlock tickets for stuff. This is standard Capcom and I don't get why everyone's only angry here instead of on those games too.

CONCLUSION

The game is a lot of fun and I can't wait to get deeper into it, there are issues to fix with the PC version but hopefully those will be addressed in due time.
