What can I say about a game that has allowed me to:
- hollow out an asteroid to create a hidden base
- smash my astronaut, ships and even a base or two into an asteroid (both on purpose and because I my braking systems were a dismal failure)
- create mammoth ships for mining, killing or just plain derping about
- has a community of modders that are so impressive that their stuff is incorporated into the vanilla game
- work on a machinima series within the game that has so far proven to be a lot of fun

Well I can say: GET IT!

Despite the bugs, the devs consistently churn out improvements (or more bugs) and are definitely continuously active on their games.
