The Talos Principle is my favorite puzzle game of all time. on my mid-end computer, it runs at a nice 200 FPS. with remake here, expect ten times less FPS for the same puzzles. i genuinely don't know why i would play this if it's going to be this poorly optimized. i've had this same issue with 2, and it's greatly diminishing the quality of the gameplay if there's a constant reminder that i downloaded 20 gigs for a very, very small demo that barely runs itself. i'm sorry, croteam, but with ten more years i think i & a lot of other people expected something better than a remaster of a game that's already graphically timeless.

gave it a refund as it immediately became a lot of overwhelming existential dread on one of my first 'runs'. i didn't appreciate the voice acting or the tens of characters it suddenly dropped on my plate. maybe this would be good for someone younger who hasn't processed the intricacies of such a deep topic, but i don't need a repetitive visual novel to teach me about despair. i just can't vibe with outdated diatribes about Choices that The Stanley Parable could do just as easily and with way more unique appeal rather than repeating this game's failures of being almost disgustingly high-brow in its presentation.

maybe it just wasn't for me! i don't know. try it on sale, though, i don't think it's worth 18 USD

a really good metroidvania :D the artstyle is incredible for such a small game!!! very fun to explore, i hate platforming and this is the best ive felt unlocking & platforming with the different tools you collect... just awesome. 10/10

50 games for the price of one. i'm admitting that some are very very VERY hard but that's part of the fun - they're all fully functioning and incredible pieces of game design. conquer these challenges. it's like a plug-n-play system gone wild. i want more of this, forever
