Early Access Review
A true 4x stripped to the core mechanisms and packaged in a fun evil genius atmostphere, really a great game.

Utter disappointment especially after the previous installment raising the bar of the franchise. There are a lot of new ideas here too but somehow the magic doesn't happen this time. The religion is a pain in this version, and the novelty of new concepts like Eurekas and Civil tech tree wears off quickly to then realise it actually doesn't bring anything in term of pleasure to play.
Worse, the Eurekas actually restrain your choices as you will have to plan an exact sequence to trigger as much as possible. As a result the game feels slow as the moments were you are involved making a choice are too far and between.

But the most negative point is the AI. You can ruin entire AI civilisations with 3 units, it's just ridiculous.

Finally the pricing policy has become too greedy.

There is no decision to make here, which falls short for a shop management game. I tried to keep going for a while to see if things would improve but no, it just changed an object to another, but nothing more after a few hours.
Edit following discussion in the comments: I find the game too casual for my liking. I was expecting a bigger emphasis on the mangement side.

Even if the purpose was to chain bad clichés as a joke, in the end it's just bad clichés with no joke.

Paradox edite 3 jeux totalement hors norme:
