Considering I've played through this game a total of six times across Wii, PS3, and Steam, I most DEFINITELY recommend this game. I'll be blunt, this game's art style is BEAUTIFUL. It fits exceedingly well for a re-telling of a Japanese legend.

It's most similar to The Legend of Zelda series. If you enjoy that series, I'm certain you'll like this game. You'll get to traverse dungeon-like areas with the climax being a boss fight in order to remove a demon from plaguing Nippon and restore beauty to the world. You'll get some kind of new weapon to use after defeating each boss. Not to mention it also has plenty of side quests to go through, rewarding you with vital praise, sun fragments (equal to pieces of heart), and of course, moneys, each investing you further into the world's lore.

The world is covered in a cloud of dark magic because some dunce from a nearby village decided to remove the sword that sealed the great Orochi away, and so Amaterasu is revived in order to smite the evil-doers. Along the way you'll come across plenty of characters that aim to directly or indirectly aid you in your journey, as most see you as a plain wolf and not the divine beast that you are, since belief in gods has diminished since the last great crisis happened a hundred years ago.

Do I recommend this game? ABSOLFRICKINLUTELY. Even more so if you're a furry.
Do I think it's worth the original price of $60 USD? Yes.
Is it casual or hardcore? Casual as frick.
Is this review good enough? Probably not but I hope it convinces at least someone to buy it.
