Hands down one of the best games I ever played, seriously.
This was a pleasant surprise for me, I'm a romaboo so I've been keeping track of this and any game set in Ancient Rome but I had some doubts about this game first, not only because of the turn-based gameplay, that I'm not a huge fan of, but also because I had no idea if it was worth the money. From the gameplay videos I couldn't really decide...

Then it went on discount at 11 euros and I decided to give it a try. Thank God I did!
Actually this game deserves to be purchased at full price! Characters are well written and you grow attached to them the more you play, the plot is far from hollow, actually quite fascinating and the gameplay never gets repetitive because you'll always need more tactical items and new techniques to be victorious, you might have a few difficulties at first, but if you conduct your battles smartly you'll end up victorious.

The game is actually very long, it's more than 56 hours if you play all the side quests too. I never got bored, never found any glitch nor suffered any CTD. I am aware that it was released 3 years ago but this helped immensely to create a pleasing game experience.

The only flaw is that the replayability isn't much. Yeah there are some important decisions to make, that will have severe consequences but it's not enough to make you want to restart with a new character, especially because you'll end up abundantly playing with all the available classes and specializations on your first run.

Expeditions Rome have 7 different endings, even here, I played 4 of them through loading from the autosave, the others are very similar between eachother. Therefore it was a great decision to make the game so long and epic.

Obviously this game has alot of fictional characters, events etc. but you'll also find many historical ones too that you'll fall in love with.
This is one of those games that don't really seem that good when you watch others play them, the same thing can be said for Mordheim and Greedfall but frankly, I enjoyed all 3 very much.

I definitely recommend this underrated gem of a game to everyone who's into Ancient Rome, historical, open world, turn-based strategy and player choice driven games.

Thank you bald guy with smiley nickname.
The best people who ever lived had some crazyness or they wouldn't have achieved anything in their lives, if they had set boundaries and mental blocks

That's not nearly a problem at all since the backstory didn't have any political message nor propaganda in it, it was just there and it was completely fine.

I'm not the type of person to get butthurt over some non-heterosexual relationship in a game, if it doesn't include some weird projection or progressive brainrot along with it.
You just have deaf ears and don't care about different opinions. Cya dude

Fyi, Lady Masako has a woman as her secret lover. So you are still playing a "woke" game.
