First, the online replay takeover system is very carefully designed, it does not let us lab against DLC characters without paying, at least Guilty Gear Strive provided a basic match up tutorial even vs DLC characters you did not buy, but Tekken can't do that? We can't even attempt to lab vs DLC characters in the online replay takeover system so why bother implementing it, knowing the game is going to be full of DLC characters within a year time frame? (They allow replay related to DLC now, so you can lab, still can't control the DLC char but a good step taken forward.)

Also, instead of nerfing Devil Jin for his clearly overpowered Heaven's Gate floor break, Tekken developers decided to universally nerfed every mechanics involving stage interaction after Heat Burst into Heat Dash, why did other characters get punished when clearly ONLY DEVIL JIN was overpowered with this mechanic? Also this created so many unintentional bug and you released this patch one month before Evo Japan. While we are at it, at least the Tornado at Wall bug and Azucena WR3,2 is fixed, overpowered characters are still clearly overpowered and the Tekken developers thinking nerfing Leroy and Yoshimitsu is the priority. (My bad Yoshi is overpowered, and Dragunov is also overpowered still, but I hope they nerf it in season 2.)

Next, changing the ranked matchmaking system from Rank Restriction to Prowess is a bad take. A player with 12 characters on Garyus is NOT going to be at the same level with a player on Tekken God rank. This also discourages people from playing other characters on Ranked and reduced characters variety, making the game a lot more stale and boring, sometimes even fighting the same player multiple times in ranked just because there are no other players at similar prowess online at the moment. (They fixed prowess matchmaking.)

Lastly, the Tekken shop being implemented is whatever, but why can't one buy the BattlePass directly? It costs 600 coins yet 600 coins are not even an option. Why must you go through a second monetary system where players have to pay extra to obtain extra amount of Tekken Coin to get a BattlePass? The rewards of the BattlePass were bad enough, yet we STILL have to pay extra in a game we spent 60USD on, to so-called support the developers. I know the servers aren't free but at least with Tekken 7 DLC characters monetisation you pay for what you get and never need to pay more. Therefore, BattlePass BALL. (They gave enough free coins where you can get battlepass infinitely and self sustainable as long as you play.)

Edit: The devs had worked hard and most of the issues are gone, only balancing issue left and season 2 are coming around the corner so I think the game deserves a thumbs up again.
