Once upon a time game speed was tied to processor speed of the system - back then hardware was a lot slower and there wasn't much issue with that, it was easier to write without worrying about the game. Space Invaders famously had this as a perk of the game - the aliens got faster as you destroyed them because there were less left for the processor to manage, so each got a bigger chunk of that time.

This game however has that as a problem, the game is pretty much unplayable on a modern decent PC because the game hasn't been adjusted to limit the play speed, I find it runs far too fast to be really played.

The story is great, the setting is wonderful (though it has a lot more work put in over time than most games, since it was taken from a tabletop game) the game is still on the buggy side, but at this point it's been out for a week, there's a lot of games that are this bad or worse on release people tend to forget how bad they were when they started.

It's been a year and I still stand by my review. There was good, bad and ugly in the game, there are things I would like to have been done differently, but I still enjoyed it, I will still go back and play again when the DLC is released, and still did play through multiple times in the past year as it is.

Card balance is pretty terrible, games are too fast to really enjoy.

More serious than GTA or Saints Row (even the older ones when they were actually somewhat serious) and honestly that's a big part about what makes this game so good.

In what way is a tiara a sea urchin? The clue was Sea Urchin, the item was a tiara/crown. It seems like they used google translate for their localization...

Problem 1 - Achievements are broken. Earning them shows an in game notification, but does not show them on steam.

Problem 2 - Hint system is terrible. Hints showing you how to use an inventory item is useless when the next thing you need to do requires an item you didn't even know existed. I needed the oven mit, which was in a drawer I didn't know to open, to get the wrench "key" as the only thing I could do next.

These were just the unique issues with this game, it had some of the standard HOG issues too,

The escape key is an UNLISTED restart button. It's a button I hit as a reflex when I need to bring up a game menu, when I want to pause for whatever reason. I have just played half of the same level probably about 5 times today because I keep hitting escape. F1 is listed as the restart key (and this works) and so does the button right next to it, you can't change this, you can't stop it. It also ruins "first try" attempts since resetting accidentally makes it no longer your first time (which is an achievement)

I LOVED this game when I was younger playing the original, but this one issue (and one that was mentioned multiple times in comments as a problem to the developers) is making it nearly unplayable.

Keys aren't wrenches. This game has pretty much the worst mismatches on item names I have ever seen in a Hidden Object Puzzle game.

Hidden object puzzles have several common issues. This one suffers from several of them. A big one is multiple objects in the picture matching the clue (I counted 6 wheels in a picture, they only asked for 1) another is regionally or wrongly named items (A gamepad called a joystick, a telescope where it said microscope). This game also has a few less common issues, formerly clickable areas sometimes still flash as if they were active, and some spots to click and zoom in for collecting items have no way of knowing they are there.

Once upon a time I would have recommended this game. There were some interesting ideas like creating cards to go in you (or your opponent's) decks, the PvE was interesting, the game was fun.

Then everything changed. Well technically NOTHING changed, and that was the entire problem. They haven't really done much except PvP events in ages. I haven't seen any new cards since I backed out of the game, the PvE got one extra zone, but then nothing (and there is evidence that there was supposed to be more - a still locked off PvE third tier set of skills that hasn't been finished in over 4 years, some of the better and more fun cards were heavily nerfed. The game has stagnated. Hard.
