I had this game since I loved Mark of the Ninja and this one didn't disappoint. I'm no stranger with Deckbuilding Roguelite like Slay the Spire and Monster Train and although this game is often criticized for it's lack of replayability but I actually disagree.

This game has tons of replayability with how :
- alternate endings from the choices you make
- various cards you could get and explore
- friends and enemies you could make down the line .
- various dialogues you can exploit
- decisions that might haunt you or help you down the road

There are twerks that i wish the game could resolve such as :
- the ability to see post-ending cutscenes.
- Read more lore during your spare time like the Bog underground and more info on certain races and background stories with the main character.
- Saving specific parts of the days ( which of course defeats the purpose but would make the game less punishing )

Overall, this didn't let down my overal enjoyment with its animation , fantastic writing and world- building .

Its been a while since i last reviewed this game but this remains of the best puzzle mystery game in a while . The animation is stellar , its voice acting is engaging and everything else just oozes with style . I would definitely recommend this game to any puzzle solving game

Who knew being a coalminer can be soo much fun .

1. Borderlands but better co-op with decent amount of Loot
The cell-shading element along with some crazy moments , Deep Rock Galactic delivers some of the best co-op experience ever . It even reduces the complications of mind-numbing gun stats with some good perks and mods over your weapons . The Loots are not as vast but they do give some fantastic perks to some of your weapons .

2. Mastering each Dwarven Class
Currently at the moment , theres four Classes that presents each unique skillset that you with your mission . Theres the Driller that basically drills everything in your path and makes life much easier to navigate . Theres Engineer strategises your path and planning , Gunners who shoots wherever those spidies go and lastly Scout , my least favorite and often the neglected once the mission is over .

3. Going through the Misty Mountains with your Team
There are so many close call cases like getting lost going back to the drop pod , defeating two bosses from separate quests together , and the inevitable falling into your death . All this creates one of the best experience you can ever have among stransgers that you dont even chat with . Simply use your pointer and press "v" for extra Dwarven Masculinity .

4. Monster variety still has a long way to go
Lets see your faced with Spiders , tiny spiders , big acid spiders , mosquitos that could grab you from above , some tentacle thing that sucks the life out of you , robots from an enemy corporation that attacks you at any time and more ginormous spiders . Game definitely needs a bit more variety to make it less stale in a long run but the various conditions on each cave made it long lasting .

Overall , this is a solid game that took most of my time on the Pc while also chatting with people online with the audio set to low . A good throwback to a simple Co-op game with not much gimmicks and microtransactions thats been plagued with the industry for so long .

Spiritfarer swept me with its colourful animation and charming aesthetic with a good premise on the concept of death , here are some of the highlights

1. Charming Environment
Everything from chopping wood , talking with your guests , sliding through the roof and hugging someone just felt that certain charm and care has been done for this game . I think this is most attractive aspect of it which is well worth the game itself .

2. Deep Personal Interactions
I was told that majority of the characters in this game was inspired by real-life people that game devs have personally interacted and have a deep connection . Some characters really do hit hard on you especially the frail Alice who needs some help walking , the spiritual Summer who preaches a Vegan lifestyle and the lovable Stanley .

3. Being your own Captain
Your the captain of the ship and that means you have to continue upgrading your ship , making sure all your guests are properly fed and happy as well as growing your crops . As you continue playing the game , your ship will grow bigger , faster and able to explore to more areas .

3. End-game still needs some work
65 % of the game is fun but once you reach to the end , there's really not much you can do except complete all the tasks and quests you have. I wish there was a great way to put more things in my colossal-sized ship because I didn't really abuse the customization aspect of the game .

Overall , this game made me feel things that I've never thought of , it also comes at the right time since death is constantly looming during this pandemic ( especially when reading people's families are dying left and right ) . It helped me with understanding the concept of death and I hope this game sets your spirits away .

The Game that jumpstarted my Rhythm Game /EDM obsession

Super Spin Digital 's Spin Rhythm XD is a rhythm game with a huge spin on classic 4-button rhythm games that you everyone seems to be familiar with ala Muse Dash and DJMax Series .

1. The Controls
Rhythm gaming is a hard sell especially when using the keyboard , you can easily make the mistake of mashing another key and missed that one beat to have that perfect combo . Not this game , you only need the left button on your mosue and a Spacebar to play this game and you know what IT WORKS SO GOOD

2. Begin to the Rhythm , Spin to the Rhythm , Slide to the Rhythm
The music is simply banging with tons of EDM , Funk , Pop and Rock songs . Despite its lack of songs ( at this current moment ) its music selection with over 40 Music selection with variable difficulty options that could test your mastery .

3. Rhythm Gamer friendly
Everything from practicing certain loops of songs along with mouse sensitivity and sound pacing , you can bet with a bit of practice and focussing . you can easily master this game .

Overall , despite buying Muse Dash , DJ Max Respect V and Avicii invector after playing this game . I still come back to this once in a while just to see itself update a few bugs and enjoy the music .

Reliving Death Over and Over again .... and it feels great

What can I say roguelikes are beginning to grow on me , Passtech Games Curse of the Dead Gods is a home runner as I had to choose between Hades and this .

1. No Spamming
Its a skill-based game where instead of spamming your attack button, theres an actual sense of care playing this game by utilizing a stamina system . Perfect Dodges reward you by not spending your stamina and perfectly timed parries gives you an opportunity to smack another one at the undead. You have a sense of mastery when you continue to play this game in the long run.

2. Glutton for Choice
You got tons of relics , weapons and attributes to choose from that at first you can be overwhelmed but running through more and more dungeons , you gonna need these to help you along the way . Weapons have different stats according to certain conditions such as if your secondary weapon is a knife or you get 15% more base damage if the environment is illuminated . In any case , the sense of getting super rare loot is there while you savor every last hit you use against the undead.

3. Fighting the Undead
No surprise here but the undead roster in this game is pretty good with each enemy having different attack patterns and movement . Save for some Legendary and Elite bosses that can be huge sponge when attacking them along with a swarm of other enemies . Bosses themselves are already tough to beat by dodging and parrying on precise moments that have you skip a beat .

4. Variety of Curses and Traps
it wouldnt be that easy to just go around the dungeons and not expect fireballs , spikes coming up from the ground or curses making you regret ever setting foot in the dungeon . Each run feels unique and different as you anticipate what comes next for the next dungeon.

Overall , This is a solid game to waste your time with . If you like roguelike Dungeon crawling hack and lsash with a bit of skillful tact while maneuveringthe undead and traps . Buy this game before they fully release it as to me its almost done .

As a big fan of the boardgame , I've been needing to play this since its physically hard to find people to play in real life . Terraforming Mars works as well as I hope except for several issues

1. Bugs here and there . Small cases like someone forfeiting and were stuck in an endless loop of tis bot doing the same exact thing . We had to force ourselves to forfeit and that menas loosing points for our karma .

2. Karma system . There are many cases where i ran out of time and was forced to kicked out which means i lose karma . I understand its to avoid people easily quiting but you have to make some exceptions .

3. Timer . I dunno why or maybe it really is just me but I REALLY could not see my own timer while others can see mine and there own . This is the reason why I ran out of time and lose karma . I'm playing this game in a windowed version so that I copuld multiask and i still couldnt see my own timer .

Overall , This is game is still good but bugs need to be fixed and there are some instances where they need to give options where we can auto-skip stuff like clicking to see what your opponent does and also showing a more detailed activity log about where they reduce some material .

I still love this game but its hard to enjoy when a few turns away suddenly you get a bugs here and there .

Update [ 29/11/2021] :
Game is still buggy as hell , to the point that I had to do Standard Project jsut to see my hand , it caused multiple players to not play the game during the middle of a match , and still continues to cause more problems

Let me just say this game is really not that bad. In fact , its the best movie-tie-in game I've ever played which you really do feel like Max on a post-apocalyptic wasteland . My opinion about this game is like a tug of war and it really does have its highs and lows .

Highs
  1. Beautiful setting - Although it really is a wasteland , it doesn't feel that repettive . The game developers try there best to make the experience of driving around the wasteland actually more entertaining with each region have a unique character to it . Alogn with change of weather and nighttime.
  2. Gritty Combat - Akrham-y combat mechanic without the cool gadgets and kungfu moves . When your playing Max , the only combat experience is your two fists and boy it really does feel good suckerpunch a godamn war boy in face .
  3. World - If you like the crazyness of the franchise, then this game gives that same lust of insanity and madness that we all crave with specific tribes with there own culture and beliefs . Typical Mad Max trope to survive by scavenging scraps , food and water is also the main theme for this game.
  4. Car mechanics and Combat - The soul of this whole franchise and this game is the car combat . Its basically Pimp-My-Ride with your sidekick Chumbucket as xzibbit . Car Combat is as entertaining as it gets especially when you high tail a convoy all by yourself , rampaging through dozens of cars jsut to get that head ornament as the cherry on top of your sweet Magnum Opus .
  5. Story - This is probably in the middle but like any Mad MAx movie . It is kept pretty simple with a clear objective

Lows
  1. The Grind - This is the bad apart about customizing your car , to upgrade the best parts for it you have to start doing small missions by destorying camps and clearing the region which is a chore especially if majority are almost the same . This is what BREAKS ME for this game , its tiring &repetitive and I had to take a long rest from playing this game before going at it again .
  2. THE DOG IS USELESS - At first when I saw the dog at the first part of the game you'll be like " hell yeah , Dog partner in wasteland just like Road Warrior " NOOOOOOPPPEEEE . The only thing that dog does in this game is to sniff out mines and there is no reward other then clearing the region out of doing this . It is menial and boring as heck .
  3. Mini-Boss are the SAME- THroughout parts of each region theres a mini-boss camps for you to beat to get that sweet paintjob on your crib but my god is it boring . Each Mini-boss has the same moves , body and mask and it is repetitive and lazy which makes the game almost a cakewalk .

Verdict
Overall , its really not a bad game but for those who enjoy a collectathon with a same-y sandbox gameplay with added car combat and collecting while experiencing post-apocalyptic franchise then you would love this game but for me it felt like chore .

As I check in of 40 hours of gameplay on this game after I backed it on kickstarter , I would say this game is my first step into fighting games in general . I was never good at fighting games to begin with especially with the controller such as Soul caliber and Tekken and it didnt spur me on further to imrove myself but then came skullgirls .

The 2D animation is gorgeous and the controls are pretty easy to remember , the story is hilarious and the cartooniness of the game is my type of game . Overall , buy this for the boobies , stay for the game .

Update( 25/8/2020 ) : It was good while it lasted . Mike Z I hope your happy staying in the company and hopefully Annie gets to release in the game ( which I probably think it wont for some time )

Update ( 27/5/2023) : Almost 3 years later for the last update with this abhorrent censorship , i have no absolute idea why this is needed . For now , it loses what makes Skullgirls special . I'm gonna not recommend in protest

Beatbuddy is what the title says its got a Beat with rhythm and the main controls is by using the mouse . Often times , its frustrating when using the mouse but I understand this is the best way .

Often times the environment reacts by the beat of the soundtrack during that specific level and you have to follow the beat through various obsticles . Sadly I use quite little of it just to get through certain platforms . Beatbuddy is a cute little game with a story that I could not delve myself into cuz the characters literally beatbox when they talk and MY GOD i rather hear them Beatboxing then actually making dialog . Overall , its a different kind of rhythm with platforming mechanics I give it 6/10
