Early Access Review
Having played through Early Access, it's a good foundation. Only played alone, can't speak for any multiplayer features.

The free movement feels good to control and exploring is fun.
The idea of making any island a ship to sail the open skies with is very creative.
The atmosphere feels calming and easily gets you immersed while running through small caves and gliding over each island.

However, the combat wasn't amazing, kinda basic. It does allow special moves, both on ground and in air. I encountered three different enemy types. How you cleanse islands doesn't really change, just expose and attack the weakspot twice and you're done.
After playing a while, you will notice repeat island layouts. Some islands still have a secret or two to find.
One important part with building is missing in this version: the ability to tilt/lean objects. It can really limit the creativity when the ideas starts comming.
Some UI-features are missing. One example is for cooking. While picking a learned recipe, it doesn't show you which ones you have upgraded nor what the upgraded bonus does until after you've cooked it.

Many of my comments, I'm sure, will be expanded, changed and/or finished in the future.
Keep up the good work, Astrolabe!

PROS:

- The enviroments are beautiful, immersive and really captures (at least from my perspective) what a fairy-tale world would look like in a video game.
- The three main characters: Pontius the shield-paragliding sword-swinger, Amadeus the thingamajig-levitating box-maker and Zoya the archer, equipped with a sweet grappling hook. The bread and butter when it comes to the games mechanics. You can complete many puzzles in different ways.
- The voice acting is very good, not much else to add here.
- The controls are fine and rebindable along with controller support (also rebindable).
- The game makes it easy for one to grab all the collectibles, trineangles, whenevery you complete a stage. They show all acts in the stage and how many trineangles you've collected and how many are there for grabs.

CONS:
- The cliffhanger ending. Made me quite dissapointed and did NOT leave me satisfyed.
- Glitches. Although I did not come by any game crashes, I did find some glitches that totally broke immersion, like climbing upwards in thin air.
- Even though the music fits the scenarios they're in, they aren't very memorable, at least to me.
- The game isn't very difficult, even though it's possible the game designers had that in mind.
- The combat is very basic with little variation throughout the game. All characters knows all abilities and can kill monsters from the start but nothing changes at all, ability and combat-wise. Close to all enemies slowly walks towards you and lunges when they're close enough

No game is perfect but I really do recommend the game once it's on sale, mostly due to the ending and lackluster combat. Otherwise, a nice and smooth ride with gorgeous aesthetics.

Upcomming notes are very personal, no need to delve deeper unless you're curious. ;)

EXTRA BUT NOT TOO RELEVANT POINTS:
- As a player who's played the previous Trine games, I truly miss the combat variation in Trine 2 with explosive arrows or ice arrows for Zoya, even the hammer for Pontius was very fun in Trine 2 with the Explosive Hammer upgrade.
I also dearly miss being able to pick up enemies, mostly their dead corpses and swing them around with the funny physics. Just thinking about my first experience with that bringes me a good smile. I'm ok with not being able to make multiple boxes, that was too OP Especially with the Trine 2 launch, where you could make yourself float anywhere with a plank and a box and ignore and skip more than half the puzzles.
- Frozenbyte, if you're going to complete the story, please make an update to either the DLC or the new game, depending on the route you're taking, so the player can levitate dead corpses (or enemies, even better!) and throw them to the horizon.
- Although the world map is very cool, I wished the characters would run faster or that there were a way to choose stages with a list, kinda like this:
Stage 1:
Act 1
Act 2
etc.

Stage 2:
Act 1
Act 2
etc.

Please buy this game to show how much this art style is appreciated nowadays! I also strongly recommend getting the soundtrack with the game if you plan to buy it. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Sure, the game is hard but that's what makes it so fun for me. Whenever I died, I didn't ONCE blame tthe game. Some people says it's not very well telegraphed but I disagree. It is but a little bit sublte. Even if they are, at first, hard to see and understand which animation winds up what attack, you learn the small details and can more easily predict what attack is comming up next.
