I would honestly go with the dual pronged sword in this scenario, if you're good at air juggling, the higher strength should definitely best the thick one, as you most likely won't be getting hit a lot and it comes with a nice critical proc chance. If you can't juggle well enough or you're certain you'll be getting hit a lot, feel free to go with more defense, however, even max defense won't save you in the later parts of insane mode, as enemies can hit up to 300 damage and above.
