For me, I can't even experience the horrible gutting of the game, because Epic decided to implement EOS in a way that blocks Linux/Steam Deck from playing the game. I was able to play when it was on Epic.

That being said... it sounds like I'm not missing out on much, eh?

Does this game run like hot garbage? Yes, yes it does. 6900 XT can't get 60 FPS on 1080p with FSR3 enabled on Ultra Preset. But the DNA is there in the game, it just needs time to cook, polish, and take our feedback to make it better. I don't recommend the game if you're looking for something that isn't clearly needing some major input from the community on how it needs to proceed. But if the devs do listen to feedback, then you can be a part of making it into something greater. It's just not there yet.

Adding Battleye to this game only to not check the "allow Linux Support" box, on the basis that "BattlEye isn't supported on the Steam Deck" is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

This is no longer playable on the Steam Deck and Linux in general, despite the Verified tag as of this review. The update they pushed out broke the game entirely, modded or otherwise.

Edit: they patched the game, shortly after Valve fixed it themselves, however the game still has Enigma and I wouldn't necessarily trust that all is well and good.

For me it's the only non-From Software game that actually manages to capture what makes their games great, and in addition adds features and QoL improvements that make the game quite unique.

Quite possibly the best game I've played. I'm nearly ending the first act I think, just about to finish the quest about naming my character. Will update when I've finished that first act.

I've rarely reviewed products on this site, due to being required to have something to say. This time however I need to add my voice to the crowd, because this game is incredibly unique.

I've never seen an early access game with this level of polish and stability in even the first 3 months, and this launched with more content, less jank and almost 0 perceptible bugs (minus the occasional "Huh that's odd"). It's 100% worth every penny and more. As long as they keep this momentum up there's no doubt it'll surpass everyone's expectations.
