I'm kind of loving this game, despite sucking really bad at it. I recommend trying the daily runs, as they'll force you to use new character options that you would've otherwise overlooked i.e. I was shooting fire out of my face. OUT OF MY FACE.

I've tried about 20 characters in 30 hours so far, and I've yet to make it to the Six Day Stilt. I do recommend checking the wiki, at least for the basics and the starter guides.

Three hours in, including defeating a monster zoo, I died to a misclick of my own wand. I couldn't walk out of the damage radius fast enough.

I am extremely unhappy, and I can't get more than a few hours in.

9.5/10, highly recommended for masochists.

This is the first, and only time, I've ever quit and uninstalled a game out of anger.

I didn't know there were "faeries" in the game.
I never managed to decipher the language.
I gave up after hours of staring at the golden path, and looked up the solution - that was the tipping point.

The thing is, there's a great game here, that I really want to love. But I just *can't*, and I can't tell if it's a failing of the game or of mine.

If you're going in for the first time, just know that this isn't like The Legend of Zelda - this is more like Fez 2.0.

The gameplay is really fun - there's something extremely satisfying about ripping a ship apart piece by piece, as well as attaching two tethers and literally ripping the ship up down the middle.

Also, the story mode is absolutely fantastic. No spoilers, but I absolutely felt every moment of it.

**EDIT**: I may have been a bit too rude when writing my review - maybe stepped over a line, and I apologise for that. I'll leave up my original review, because erasing the past is a bad idea - instead I'd rather learn from it.

HOWEVER I do think the way the developer handled my criticism, by contacting me over facebook and such, also crossed a line. When you receive a bad review, even a painful one, that is not the best way to handle it. Sometimes, you just need to let it go.

**Original**:

So what can I say about Aura of Worlds?

* Art, though occasionally good, was extremely mismatched.
* Music was passable.
* Controls were difficult, like holding an eel.
* Enemies had no strategy to defeating them, despite the complex item system.
* World generation was meh, and in some cases actively detrimental.
* The tutorial was completely superfluous due to a simple splash screen before the main game begins.
* The hub world was also unnecessary.
* HUD is too small, can't see it when focusing on the character.
* No story, which is fine, but there was as splash screen with story, so I figured it would play a bigger part.
* Not all stalactites are traps.
* Not all items are traps, and it's not clear which ones until you get close.

On the whole, after an hour of playing it, the only fun I had was when I saw two traps crush two enemies in succession - I didn't have a hand in that at all.

I picked this up because I'd heard about it through the grape vine, and it really is as bad as they say. It's a great example of what not to do when designing a game. I'm a gamedev myself, and I'd be ashamed to put out a game this bad.

Yeah, I'd say give this one a miss, unless you're deliberately looking for punishment. Which might be your thing, IDK.

During chapter 4, some textures failed to load. As a result, I was left seeing even less than the game indended. I only found my way through chapter V by feeling my way around, and building a mental map to find the exit. So yes, this game did make me feel like a blind girl.

It's a shame that happened, since I was really enjoying this game. I did still enjoy it regardless, but this is certainly a niche product.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to put my heart back together.

If you're looking for titilation, this game has it in spades. If you're looking for a deep and compelling story, I'd recommend something else.

The third game in the fantastic creeper world series. It takes the gameplay of the original, and builds on it; interestingly, it gives you all of your old toys pretty quickly. The anti-creeper from the sequel makes a return, and works quite well. The level design was decent, although there were times when I felt it could've used work, and I rarely found it necessary to use more than one control node, with the exception of the timed missions.

The story was the weakest part, having reduced the cast to just two members: Abraxis and his ship's AI. There's some good world building, but I think it could've been greatly expanded upon, and the twist ending was really unexpected, and felt out of place. I'm not fond of stories that retcon their own history. If you want a great story, I'd recommend playing the original, which is still the best in this regard.

I was honestly hoping for a longer experience overall, but there is replay value in the form of custom community maps (still haven't tried it yet), as well as a random map generator which need to be unlocked through the campaign. Something I'd love to see is a massive map, spanning several screens in size, with complex terrain and hidden secrets buried around the map; the only time you excavate anything in game is during the last level.

On the whole, fans of the genre will enjoy this, just don't expect any literary awards. 8/10.

Uplink, which simulates the unrealistic "Hollywood hacking”, is a fun niche game. At first as you work your way through the ranks to gain more money and better hardware you slowly realise that there is a story occurring in the background (I was very surprised to suddenly be plunged into such a gripping storyline). Although the main story does take some time to appear, and I did experience some speed issues with the steam version as opposed to the stand alone Humble Indie Bundle version, I highly recommend anybody who enjoys puzzle and simulation games should check this out at least once.
