As someone who hardly played any mmos before FFXIV and genuinely had a huge disdain for games in the genre, this game pleasantly surprised me. I got pulled in by someone who recommended this to me back in August 2021 and I have fallen in love with another game and I can't recommend it enough for anyone, even if just somewhat interested. The massive amount of content in this game can keep you here for thousands upon thousands of hours, the community is the greatest I have ever had the pleasure of being in, the story rivals some of the best in ANY game I have played. FFXIV has helped me through some pretty rough times and helped me meet so many different people! No matter who you are and what kind of gamer you are, this game has almost anything to itch your needs. Despite it being a meme within the community, the free trial is a great way to dip your feet into the world and see if you would like the game and almost everyone recommends it. Endwalker only recently coming out has basically wrapped up the main story up till now and is the best dlc I have ever played and it makes it a great time to hop in and play this game! My only gripes are really just the beginning being somewhat of a slog and some features that other mmos have that this game would benefit from, ie chat bubbles. I can't express how much more I love this game and so, I sincerely hope everyone can enjoy it as much as I do. I know I am going to continue to pour my time into this game any chance I can get and I hope to see you all around Eorzea :D

I have an additional 1000 hours of ark on xbox and I can tell you right now none of it was worth it. Save yourself before you gain gambling and alcohol addictions alongside the instinctive urge to play this game. A workload similar to that of a nine to five job, a complete mess of bugs, a less than descriptive server browser that incentivizes buying your own server, etc. All this game gives me is pain. I can honestly say that I love the gameplay, lore, and maps but what I can say with even more honesty is that you should not play this game, for your own safety. PLEASE ADHERE TO MY MESSAGE, DO NOT JOIN THE REST OF THE FALLEN.
