Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice starts off messing with your mind and tugging at your heart from the very beginning. Every section is full of breathtaking moments. The visuals and sound are top notch. The combat isn't difficult, but definitely has a a learning curve. Make sure you look up the controls before you start, because there are no button prompts and they will leave you lost. Is this an enjoyable experience, I would say yes, except the experience is not designed to be an enjoyable story. Loss and love are key aspects that weigh heavily as you progress. Delving into dealing with psychosis can leave you constantly on edge. A few nitpicks that I would express; When lining up the environment for some puzzles, I ran into seeing what I was looking for multiple times, but not what the game thought I should be looking for. There is also the issue of the 'collectibles' in the game, where you can accidentally lock yourself out of obtaining all of them due to the story structure of blocking off areas (the trials are the biggest offender). Having followed the development of this game, I can honestly say that I was not disappointed. This is definitely a worthwhile adventure, though if you have epilepsy or struggle with mental illness, there are sections that are quite uncomfortable.
