I've played over 2000 hours of this game over a period of about 4-5 years.
First discovered it by watching my dad play - i soon took over the computer and he wasnt playing ck2 anymore. This was just after i graduated from 8th grade.
With mountain dew i stayd up for almost 4 days mostly playing ck.
I pirate ck2 on my laptop and play so im not ALWAYS hogging the desktop and so i could play when away fom his house. (before india is relased), Then I get the real game around charlemange time.

Freshman year of high school, world history.
Teacher talks about islam and the byzantines, i already know everything from CK2, he thinks im a genius but in reality i just no lifed a video game all summer.

Dlc are released inbetween, game gets better.

2018, Senior year of highschool, Holy Fury DLC is released, possibly the last one.
Tons of new features, warrior lodges, way better way to reform pagan religions, you really can shape it into what you want it to be, a religion of war, peace, or learning and scholarship.

This is the best strategy game I have ever played, it goes beyond just warfare into the intrigue and diplomacy of the world and your realm..

Def worth a buy. The thing is though, what many people dislike is the DLC policy.

The game was released in 2012, is 2018, Each year a couple of DLC's are released providing massive updates, new features (some free) and general better things to the game.
Well all of the dlc's released over the years add up to a lot of money. But i say have 2-3 10$-20$ dlcs released every year is better then a new 60$ game every year that studios like Activision release. So the game is worth a buy, but FOR SURE do it on sale so you can get as many dlc's as possible. Another alternative is to buy the dlc for cheaper on a third party key selling website.
