I loved the original one, and was gifted this one by my partner for xmas. I just started playing it, and it's not bad, but it's also not good. The controls are so weird and confusing, I like the old ones better. Like, when you put stuff down for tiles, you can't change tools AT ALL. I don't mind the other parts.
