1000+ hours.

The balance has gotten to the point where there is no reason to play any heroes except hitscan if you want to win. Hitscans are not boring heroes, it's just that all of the most fun heroes are projectile. Why should I play a projectile hero? On Ashe it's way easier to hit shots, those shots deal more damage, they are consistent at every range, and the healing debuff practically has 100% up-time when you just have to click on people in your line of sight. Meanwhile projectile heroes have to hit more shots that are way harder to hit for a worse reward. Pharah and Echo are the only ones who come remotely close because their direct hit damage is insane.

Heroes that are meant to make the game accessible to FPS players to ease them into the hero shooter genre are dominating because of the format. In 5v5 where everyone has 200+ HP and you get debuffed for simply taking damage, pointing and clicking is the easiest while also being the most rewarding.

Support is in a decent state I guess. Their design philosophy is basically based around Ana, and she still ends up being the best one out of them all. Having the ability to disable healing, which is only seen in one other ability in the game, an ultimate, while simultaneously boosting healing is simply the best ability in the game. She can also fully stun any hero for a few seconds with one button press. All while she has decently high numbers on her hitscan rifle with no range fall off.
The other support heroes have their niches, and learning to be flexible and playing them all definitely pays off, it's just that Ana will be the default pick 90% of the time.
But even if Ana was weak, everyone knows what type of people support players are, they learn one hero and when their team isn't playing the game for them they panic and switch to Moira or Lifeweaver.
Support is the easiest role to learn to be flexible on, but at the same time the people who play support are the least flexible.
Also the devs F'd Kiriko before I did. Her healing is mid. Her damage is bad against 250hp.
Her suzu is still good, but the devs made earth shatter an exception so you can't cleanse it, rein players are so stupid and bad at the game they needed suzu nerfed just for them, that's more embarrassing than them shattering each others shields like when they jerk each other off. FOR HONOR!!!
Kiriko now has 225hp so she is stupidly fragile compared to the rest of the cast, especially against hitscan who I already ranted about.
And her teleport does not make up for it, since you have to teleport to a person there's a high probability that person is just gonna get you killed anyway. It's not a get out of jail free card when I am just teleporting to my dps who is 7-15.
Kitsune Rush is still one of the best ults... when people use it, and that 7-15 dps won't use it for sure.
She has no notable strength in the support roster currently, so you are just better off playing Ana.

Tank is just dumb in 5v5. They have been giga-buffed to compensate for the new format, but you can still just have one anti-nade or one discorb thrown at them and they fall apart. It's really easy to shoot the big tank, so a lot of people end up just doing that. So tank players get an insane amount of pressure on them.
This makes tank really really hard. The skill floor is at an all time high and most tank players are really really bad. And when you end up putting two really bad tanks against each other they just start playing counters. "Counterwatch" is complained about so much because everyone is so busy swapping they forgot to get a main they're good at in the first place. Even though getting good at a tank or two is extremely rewarding.

But in the end even if you play your cards right on any of these roles you still need 4 teammates to do the same thing. Relying on strangers in team games is just always gonna be a coin flip, and it's not really something you can fix within the game itself. Queuing with friends, even those who are bad at the game, is more consistent than playing with randoms.
The only consistent thing randoms pull off is landing on 10+ deaths every game. I was gonna keep count of how many comp games ended with teammates on 10+ deaths, but I stopped doing it because it ended up being 100% of them, win or loss.

Feels like resident evil without the fun. I'll cut the devs some slack though, I shouldn't expect the most polished gameplay coming from a two person team.

Survival horror always handicaps the player and/or makes the enemies overpowered, most often by limiting resources like ammo and inventory space. This game takes that to the extreme by giving you a total of zero inventory slots and only giving you one bullet per gun!
Seriously though 6 inventory slots for all items just doesn't work, and others might brush this off as poor inventory management, which is a huge cope. Since even good management will lead to you skipping items and running back and forth between storage, that is what we in the industry call tedious as ♥♥♥♥. Even equipped items take up inventory space, like how is the gun in my hand taking up space in one of the pockets. Yeah, pockets. The lore reason for you having 6 slots is because the suit designer only gave it 6 pockets, so the devs clearly put some thought into it... but they still couldn't make the connection that something in your hands does not take up space in your pockets.
And there are four types of healing items, which really clog your inventory or force you to backtrack if you actually want them. And some of them you really want, like the instant full hp and revive crutch that is fairly common. Oh but you can't have it at the same time as you have a baton, or flare, or the cursed flashlight... oh god the flashlight, at least most people can agree that thing is just dumb. The flashlight steals one of your precious inventory slots and an equipment slot at the same time, just so you can see in the dark. But you also need it to interact with stuff in the dark, so you can't just skip dark rooms by knowing the locations of items and doors, because that would be fun and rewarding.
So in most situations you won't be taking advantage of half the items in the game unless you want to backtrack and get the right thing from storage for every new room you enter, which you are kind of already doing with the later half of the game turning into a key quest of collecting keys to get more keys.

So you have lots of options for combat, just that you don't actually have many of them at your disposal when you need them. But even in a perfect world where you can use what you want when you want, the combat wouldn't be good. Now, the gunplay is fine, it's slow and weak just like any other survival horror game. But there is no depth to it except waiting for the crosshair to become small. Enemies also have weaknesses, but to take advantage of that you have to conveniently have the correct thing equipped or already be aware of what enemy is coming up. There are no weak spots or strategies, there aren't even headshots. Just inaccurate or accurate shots, and lining up enemies if you want to be effective.
But in the end, it's not like you actually have to partake in combat. You can just run by the majority of enemies with the risk of taking damage being incredibly inconsistent. Heck the majority of damage you take isn't even gonna be from attacks, it's gonna be from the contact damage that decides to work at random. Like I get it, indie game and all, but with so much effort put into everything the least they could do was make enemies grab you.

And the story sure as hell doesn't make up for any of it. If you can even understand it without reading a wiki or watching a video essay telling you it's good. And while you get a decently clear journey for the main character, everything else feels like they just wanted to make cool imagery. There is a lot of creativity but not very good storytelling, and all of the world building is done with the documents and logs trope. Just reading a piece of paper telling you what everything is and what has happened really takes you out of it. And it's all so vague. While the game doesn't feel thematically meaningless, the narrative is wholly incoherent.

Plus the fake ending is very dumb. The only thing that made me even consider that there was more game was because the fake out was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anticlimactic and stupid, and because the devs already copied nier with replicants and gestalts. They really should have gone all the way with the nier influence and popped up a message saying the story isn't over. Seriously a fake ending doesn't do anything except make normal people miss an entire chapter of game, like, the transition would have been smooth between chapters 2 and 3 you don't have to put an ending screen and put the player back in the menu, if anything that makes it even worse. The transitions from cutscenes to new gameplay sections were already disconnected and it just becomes worse.

Also I don't like anime.

It's just FH4 on a new map with some small improvements. And FH4 was just FH3 on a new map with some small improvements. Now featuring some of the worst dialogue and writing in all of gaming, and it's all unskippable.

I think it's cool how much "woke" stuff they put in the game with a bunch of representation that nobody wanted, like prosthetic limbs, hearing aids and pronouns for your character, in a car game, mind you. Sure it's pointless, and it doesn't hurt anyone.
But it's pretty stupid when the only sign of Mexican culture in the game set in Mexico is characters throwing in random Spanish words mid sentence. And a bunch of missions about Volkswagen cars, because that is all Mexican culture brings to the table, a quirky name for German cars. Might as well call them Latinx, that would be the cherry on top for the Mexican audience.
If the next game is set in Japan (like the fans want) be prepared to hear characters calling each other -san and starting English sentences with soredemo. And maybe they will say Matsuda instead of Mazda. Because that is the representation and culture we need next to disabled non-binary race car drivers.

Yeah people that played FH4 are not missing out on anything. But the game is still fun, vrrom vroom ahaha!

You would think that a rally expansion would expand on the lackluster dirt racing from the base game, but it doesn't. It's just more stuff with no real improvements. It has all the gimmick garbage that comes with forza DLC, which includes:

A dumb point based progression system forcing you to do unfun side tasks instead of actually rewarding racing. It also forcefully pins those objectives to your screen, and they always come back when you make slight progression.

More screen clutter with the new pacenotes gimmick, comes in really handy in the arcade racing game. You can turn them off though.

And a helicopter for some reason. A lot of the reviews really exaggerate how annoying it is, but it's still a dumb gimmick just to make you feel like the DLC actually does something new.

It was clear they ran out of ideas in the base game already when all the "cool showcase" races are just race a big thing with a bunch of slow motion jumps. When they just copy and paste FH3 onto a new map and add some quality of life changes and new cars it's still fun, even if they have done it twice now. But the fact that they did the same for the DLC really shows how competent the devs are at making something new.
