As a player with a fair amount of hours put in this game I am sad to see it slowly,but surely crumbling
Allow me to explain :
This game is complex and requires a lot of dedication to truly master if ever. The game is not at all new user friendly and the players behaviour highly depends on rank meaning if you arent ranked high enough you will mostly experience toxic players griefing by gameplay or flaming you in chat
As a player that got stuck in low mmr bracket <2k I can personaly say this is the worst and most toxic part of dota , The European servers are plagued with Russians that cant or dont want to communite on english even tho language preferences are set to said English
9 out of 10 game you will have 1 or more players intentionaly griefing for their own amusement such as sprouting you with Natures Prophet or hooking you to cliffs ,but the apsolute worst are the fake support players in almost every game that do not buy vision of any kind ,smokes dusts or any relative item even when going against heroes like weaver and riki that have permanent invisibility ,they rush items like midas and aghs and rarely provide any help in most of teamfights
Now for next problem
After Dota changed its reporting options to make it unlimed reports every game and not 3x daily people started abusing that in low mmr rank
Every other game if you are playing alone you are getting reported for everything either by losing than getting reported by your 4 teammates that or by winning and getting reported by 4 enemies
This keeps resuling in lower communication score and behavior score
Now the fun part is if your com score is below 8k u cannot voice chat and that is 100% needed if you want to play the game properly ,without comms its impossible to engage fights, stack stuns, combo spells etc ,there is simply not enough time to write that in chat mid fights
if your score drops below 6k than even text chat is disabled and that is straight up stupid it makes the game unplayable
The best part is in 4-5 games you can lose as much as 2000 comm score but in 4-5 games where u get commended by every player you can earn only as much as 500-700 comm score
The games feels more toxic and more prone to griefing because there is no reprecautions for false reports ,you can just spam reports at 9 players every game and 2 or 3 of those will end up in low priority by being flagged for many reports
And we come to the 3rd part of the problem
As a 10+year dota veteran i also did spend a sum of money on this game that im almost embaressed to admit
I bought most of the battle passes and lots of cache items throught the years of playing
The whole point of those yearly battle passes were that you were getting arcanas with levels that were EXCLUSIVE to that years battle pass meaning after it was done there was no other way of getting the Arcanas
This also made psychological effect on players to spend more money before the battle pass ends to get arcanas and sets that wIll NEVER be available afterwards
Or we thought so
After the said update with communicaton score and reporting they also stared rereleasing Arcanas and personas from battlepasses latest being Wraith King arcana by making you buy treasures for 2.5e during frostivus
FROSTIVUS the same event that many dota players loved when dota was accualy fun and for the players ,now everyhing is fast cash grab for em
I fear whats next
If you were wondering if u wanted to play this game from scratch, dont ,it will cost you hours of your life ,it is not rewarding in any way ,it will cost you your sanity ,and very possibly will make you regret ever installing it as I did
