So far. I have only played up to honor level 5, and this is what I have noticed so far.

Would I recommend it? Yes.
Is it perfect? No. Then again I do not know of ANY game right now that comes out absolutely perfect.

The cinematics look great. The only issue I can see with it is the mouth movement. While it does match up with the voice actors, it feels wooden on the cinematics lips themselves. The voice acting in and of itself is FINE. I think people are mistaking this slight woodenness of the mouth as bad voice acting. It isn't the VAs by a long shot.

Otherwise awesome cut scenes and lovely scenery. Im excited to dive back in and see where it goes. (Even though I do know where it goes lore wise.)

Performance wise.

I am running a 2080 Super with 32 gigs of RAM. I had one fatal error during the Trial of Position. That was it. No issues after that after I turned on DLSS with all settings on medium (which it defaulted to.)

The mechbay COULD use some work. Categories for the research options instead of just a long list of things to research. Swapping out omnipods feels a little cumbersome and requires a little "fiddling around with" to figure it out. Being a long time MechWarrior Online and MW5: Mercs pilot I feel I could figure it out quicker than say someone just picking it up for the first time. Only cause I know what I am looking for capability wise.

The game plays and FEELS beautiful in the sense that I actually FEEL like im piloting a large cumbersome mech. The jump jets and walking animations are what come to mind here.

The Battlemap system of moving your Star (lance) mates around the map is a nice touch and with so much going on I feel I need to get accustomed to swapping back and forth. I will get used to that and come back to help this review some more after I play more.

Would I absolutely recommend this game? Yes definitely. A lot of issues I am seeing are purely things that are easily fixed and some I think have already been addressed. This is arguably the best entry into the MechWarrior series to date as far as story telling goes and feel of combat.

Definitely give it a shot.

I will be coming back to this review after I finish the entire game and give a final thought. (larger battles and how they affect my system, more mechs to mess around with, long term performance.)
