-Written within Season of the Witch (of Destiny 2)-

Destiny 2 had many changes to itself over the years, similar to someone with a lot of money and a phobia of mirrors.
But in a similar way, those little intrusive surgeries of adding and removing content from the game have left it in a peculiar state when it comes to being reviewed.

STORY-Wise :
The game only holds up well if you go on YouTube and spend a few hours watching all of the Campaigns that have been removed to make space for Seasons that have also been removed.
The original story of Destiny 2, "The Red War", was removed in its entirety so you are no longer buying Destiny 2 but something more akin to Destiny Worlds. Only a few campaigns and plots hold up to the quality of the deleted content with the glaring exception of [DLC: Curse of Osiris].

VISUAL-Wise :
The Graphics, in all their dated glory, still do compete for a fairly mid-to-high visual experience.
The game doesn't try to be the next Real World 2.0 but it also isn't afraid to cut into your 2080 RTX Ti pocket and dump you to sub-70 FPS to show off all the poorly scripted chaos it has going on, which brings us to the next stop !

GAMEPLAY-Wise :
The Gameplay itself, well, there is no way to review the Gameplay due to the nature of the game.
Destiny 2, when not being parasitic with the FOMO Microstore, is parasitic with the FOMO Season Pass Activities. Without those, you've got a fairly confusing semi-open sandbox looter-shooter where your goal is to... I don't know... Pick to play PvP as that is... No wait, that's not really it either.
Hmm. Well. Destiny 2 relies on you finding your own fun as it has lost the idea of a direction quite a few years ago, but you will have to open your wallet to get into that fun every 3 Months.

COMMUNITY-Wise :
Oh boy ! Fingers off triggers everyone !!
The Destiny 2 community is, "diverse". You will find best friends for life on one day deciding to look for a Raid Group on Discord, and the evening after in PvP you will be told to go un-alive yourself. Everyone is very protective of their game which is all understandable considering most veterans like me have dumped a years worth of savings into Outfits and Season Passes. I am sure there is a Psychological Illness term for that.
One thing is for sure thought; You will NOT enjoy the game for long without friends. Friends are a "Batteries Not Included" necessity of the game.

BUG-Wise :
Anteater. Beaver. Mango Tango Guitar at the Bar with a Cocoon in the Room Parrot eating Apricot.
If you didn't understand that sentence ? Welcome to the world of Destiny 2 Error Codes...
It is a meme by now that Bethesda makes glitchy games, but those can be fixed with mods. If you cannot mod the bugs out of a game ? You're playing a Bungie title.
A majority of the bugs will not interfere with regular gameplay, but you should be ready for a non-optimal experience and connection issues which will "always be your fault".

TL;DR SUMMARY AND FINAL THOUGHTS :

Destiny 2 has, or rather had, the potential to be a great game.
But it changes too often, and relies on too many random factors, to keep you invested while riding parasitic business practices to hold your pockets hostage.

And while I love this game, I have to look through the eyes of someone who has never played it and only seen pictures or videos without price tags and without friends.

Only enter this world if you've got money to spare and if you're quick at making friends...
