I've played Warframe since Frost Prime released back in 2013, and this game has gone through the craziest metamorphosis I've ever seen in a game, and in an extremely positive way. The game started out with some scummy marketing practices, even revives costed money at the beginning of this game's life cycle. In the time I've played, I've seen it go from predatory to one of the biggest beacons of free-to-play game design out there, if not the biggest. This is the only free to play game I have ever played that you can earn absolutely everything in for absolutely free (outside of Tennogen cosmetics, which are fanmade cosmetics that the fans who create them get the money from) through a very well done trading system. In an age of greed and ever-growing developer incompetence, typically from management holding their teams back, Warframe, and thus Digital Extremes, stand out from the crowd by always caring for their players genuinely. There's been rough times in Warframe's life cycle, and I won't deny that, but in its current state, Warframe is what free to play games should strive to be. I will admit, its early game needs work, but if you can get passed that its a game you will absolutely fall in love with. This game genuinely doesn't even feel free to play, with the only real reminder being the market button in your ship. Take my advice and don't buy platinum (and if you do, only do it with a discount which you randomly get when logging in, or from a prime access), but rather trade for it. That way, even if you aren't grinding for the specific thing you want, you still get to spend time playing the game to EARN what you want. If you play this game and can get passed the rocky start, this game and its devs will care about you as a player and you will feel it. If you don't believe that Digital Extremes values players, sometimes above money, then look up, "Warframe Slot Machine Removal." Alongside that, the former lead behind Warframe, Steve Sinclair, is now the CEO of the company, meaning you know he's going to give his baby the attention it needs, and since Rebecca Ford, former Lead Community Manager, has taken over for the game, it's been the best state its ever been in. Even if you don't end up liking it, I can almost guarantee you'll walk away from it with new ideas on how free-to-play games should be handled.
