As a pc player only, since i was 10, and have never owned a console, i'm think these sony games are somewhat of a hit and miss, the focus on the "cinematic story telling" takes a bit away from what i think a game should be.
With that said, this game is abslutely fantastic. I don't have the hard on most people have on the first game (or sony games in general), but this is what a game should be, truly amazing gameplay, atmosphere, combat, and writing.
It's a rollercoaster of emotions, from beggining to end, gut punch after gut punch, it really is a one in a lifetime experience.

Whatever price you pay for it, it's worth it.

P.S.: The game is extremely well optimized, and has little to no bugs, i've only encountered one bug where the AI for one enemy only, turned off, in a single encounter (the last one in the game i think), and one crash, apart from that, game ran smooth as butter (60 fps locked) on maxed out settings at 1080p on a 3070 and an old 9700k.

Bioware still has it. As a long time Bioware fan, i can confidently say that. I think that the game is mostly great, and absolutely fun.

I've finished the game, and... the game is great, the best bioware game since Mass Effect 2.

First of all, the "woke" aspect in this is all about ONE specific character, and to be honest, is all optional stuff and as one of the greatest tweets of all time said: YOU control the buttons you press. And to br honest, i find the writing kinda weird in this part, but the overall arc of this character is good, and the final mission is one of the coolest companion quests in the game, fighting a dragon inside an active volcano never is gonna be not cool.

With that out of the way, the game is an absolute blast to play, the gameplay, visuals, art direction, story, characters, mission and level design are all top notch, theres a lot of build variety, a lot of epic moments, and mind blowing plot twists for long time series fans. Writing is a bit too upbeat, and it feels a little off in the first 10 or so hours, but it picks up massively after that. This is Bioware at it's best in the last 10/15 years. The final stretch of the game, is an absolute insanity, it's suicide mission on a metric ♥♥♥♥ ton of steroids, the most epic and satisfying ending to a Bioware game that i've ever played. Also the game is very well optmized, and apart from a few crashes here and there (after all the patches), te game runs extremely smooth.

Just buy it and play it, for any Bioware fan, it's simply amazing

Pros for me are the visuals, the world is gorgeous, the characters are really good, the exploration is the best in the series, and it's amazing on it's own, and combat it's the star of the show, absolutely brillant how they manage to mix ideas from Mass Effect, action games and other action rpgs in what still feels like Dragon Age and Bioware.
Cons on the other hand, for me is mainly the writing, for the first 10 or so hours is really "cringe", too upbeat and basic, with bad things happening and not an ounce of reaction from the characters, with that said, the writing starts to pick up(massively) in acting AND tone, there are some moments that almost made me cry(and i'm not even with a full a party yet). Still, the "upbeatness" still happens now and then, but 20 hours in and this is barely happening now.
Overall, for now, i'm really really liking the game, it's giving me very strong Mass Effect 2 vibes, with the companions and all that. It's not Bioware at the peak of their powers, but is a Bioware that you can CLEARLY see that's on the path to get back there.
Gonna update when finishing the game or with more hours played.

EDIT: In my original review i was praising the game for it's performance optimization, which is really good, but the port seriously lacks polish in almost all areas besides performance, crashes, rebinding keys, low res icons, mouse not working problems, sounds are way too low, and much more, so i changed my review from positive to negative and decided to make a discussion post with a list of all the problems that i've encoutered so far, plus what some others encountered aswell. Gonna change back to positive when or even if this game gets fixed.

I've been waiting for this for years now, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Saber delivered, its a video-gamy game in the best way possible, fun as hell, pure balls to the walls enjoyment.
Also, it is fairly well optimized for how beautiful it is and with the metric f*ck ton of enemies on screen, in a old 9700k with a 3070 and 32gb of ram, it runs flawlessly at 1080p native with evrything max out except for textures that are on high and not on ultra, getting about 85/90 fps.
Some of my complaints about the game are:
1- The hold button to strong attack, i'd rather it to be a separate button like the first one;
2- No fov slider, i'd like the camera to fall a bit more higher and farther away from Titus than it is right now, with him in the center of the screen, not that the fov is extreme limiting bc it's not, its just that a more "classic" tps camera wolud be neat;
3- The EOS install (which is not required to play online nor it is a "stealth install" as many here claimed since you can VERY CLEARLY see that it is installing, also it's very easy to uninstall);
BUT, this are some small pet peeves of mine and they pale in comparisson to what the game is, it runs amazing, looks amazing, sounds amazing, plays amazing, feels like a very complete package from day one.
Plus the roadmap that they released is extremely consumer friendly, with gold and ultra editions adding only cosmetics, while true content will be released for free for all versions of the game, and for that i'd say kudos for Focus Entertaiment, which is right now problaby my favourite publisher, they've been releasing banger after banger for quite some time now, and always been consumer oriented.
Gonna update this review after beating the campaign and the PvE mode (i have no interest in PvP) to be a more on point one, but right now, its an absolute amazing game.

Got captured entering a church, while bad guy is monologing i took out a six-shooter fron inside a bible, shootout occurs inside and in front of said church. Bad guy flee's, i got inside a pick-up truck with a .50 cal mounted on it, car chase insues til bad guy's farm... that has a landingstrip on it, where i enter on a ww2 era fighter plane and dogfight this mf for about 10 minutes straight, when i damage his plane enough, he jumps, and i follow him, giving chase while parachuting, he lands and i beat the f*ck out of this guy, he dies... aaaaand i steal the key to his NUCLEAR bunker, which i invade (alone) and went to destroy it from the inside out, while bunker is exploding i get out by grappling hook one friendly helicopter that was hovering above the empty missile silo that i was in.

If the main character could speak she would be speechless. One hour and a half of pure, utterly unfiltered chaos. If this ain't Far Cry i don't know what is.

DON'T LISTEN TO THE HATERS!!!!
This is a really really great time, very inline with the quality of the previous games in the series, and like 2 from 1, it's similar but also very different from it's predecessors.
Combat is a soulslight i'd say, and exploration is very souls like, meaning that the combat demand a little bit more thought than mashing buttons (but you can become very OP at the last quarter or so of the game) and exploration is linear but side paths and side areas are bigger, more pletiful and way less obtuse than the first while not being a complete open-world like the second (it's a series of linear interconnected paths) theres a good amount of things to do and discover and good reasons to come back to previous areas with new hollows.
Overall i absolutely think it's worth it even at full price, and if you can, buy the deluxe edition, the dlc is nice if you do as it unlocks, and the rewards are VERY nice.

EDIT 2: I finished the game, and just...wow, this game is absolute brillant, fantastic, i was in tears by the end of it, easily one of my all time favourites now.

EDIT 1: I had very few hours in the original review, now, with a lot more, i'd say that this is a must buy, if you liked Vampyr or GoW 2018, this is for you, a AA game that punches WAAAY above it's weight class, the writing on this game is absolutely fantastic, the side quest are all amazing, combat, exploration, the tone, the acting, the graphics, the art direction everything is really good and you should buy it, even at full price, bc it's awesome.


It's so rare to have an unreal engine game that does not stutter like crazy, does not melt your rig, does not take an eternity to compile shaders, does not crash, and, against all odds, is well optimized, so performance is solid, also, the game is good, it's a AA game so go with that in mind, but combat is solid, perfomances, story and world are REALLY good, progressions is satisfying, overall is a really, really good game from these starting hours, very God of War 2018 like. Gonna update after beating the game, but for now, absolutely worth the buy.

Paguei metade do preço, e achei que vale. Eu ja tinha gostado do jogo base, e a dlc trouxe umas 5 horas a mais dele. Tem umas duas sessoes de combate que são bem sacanagem e o final alem de triste eu achei meio ruim, tirando isso o resto é bem maneiro se vc gostou do jogo base, mas so vale a pena em promoção de 50% ou mais.

Tava dando uma olhada pela minha biblioteca e descobri que esse jogo tava na minha conta há uns 7 anos, nao lembrava nem de ter comprado, resolvi instalar por curiosidade e joguei umas 4 horas seguidas sem ver o tempo passar, que achado maravilhoso, gostei tanto que comprei o season pass e a versão completa do 4.
Mesmo fora de promoção, 55 pila é bem justo no jogo. Pó comprar que é bão.

(EDIT: I was going through my reviews and this saddens me a lot, i REALLY pushed through this game's bad optimization, like, it's easy to bad mouth bad optimizations, but this one really hurts BECAUSE IT"S A BRILLANT GAME, really, this game is SO SO good, but after all the patches it still isnt fixed, it's better yes, but not fixed, so my original review still stands, but if you have a good enough GPU or if like me, you're willing to push through it, just buy it, at any price.)

Game is great, amazing action plataformer, but is as bad optimized as it is good, so, if you don't have at least a 3080/4070 you are gonna struggle, optimization alone is the reason i'll leave a negative review, if wasnt for that, probably this would be my favourite game of this year
