feels more like a kiryu game than an ichiban game. oops. story takes a while to pick up and it took me literally a year to get to finish it because of it, but when it got good it got GOOD.
tomizawa and chitose are two of the best characters, the fact they're likeness actors is amazing. zhao is so good i love him and seonhee is amazing. the core cast of LAD is still amazing in this game too.
now turn based isn't my thing but they made it work somehow, good bloody job gang
my only complaint is that kiryu's Z ability is a bit lackluster, but even that i don't mind because you have so many options to just... not use it. lol.

9/10 nothing will top 0 or 6 for me

dumb fun, the graphics are adorable and the soundtrack is happy and playful! the dlc is packed full of references to pop culture (there's at least three resident evil references at some point), and the characters are lovable :) the game also doesn't penalise you for needing help or hints!

It breaks my heart rating this game negatively - just two or so years ago, it was my absolute favourite game. I played it every day, but eventually it just started losing its fun because of the poor decisions Ubisoft has made.

I've been playing since Operation Blood Orchid, and the game absolutely peaked in Years 3 and 4. Changing the seasonal model from a new map and two new operators to no new maps and one new operator was upsetting, but relatively inoffensive. But there hasn't been enough content in the last couple of years to warrant playing frequently. I haven't played at this point since October 2023, and given the fact Ubisoft continually decides to remove and change things that didn't need to be changed (Quick Match, T-Hunt etc), there's less and less fun little things to keep me playing.

The story of the game has been erratic at best since about 2020, but at this point it's nonsensical, if not nonexistent. Doesn't help that they switched from a genuine White Mask threat storyline to... a woman with too much money to use sensibly? Sure.

'Operation' New Blood is hardly an operation. No new content - in fact, they've removed most of the things that made Recruit fun (recruit rushing, shield recruits) in favour of monetising what little they have left going for them. What's the point of a battlepass when it gives you barely anything on a monthly basis? That's all the game is right now - soulless monetisation and lack of any real updates to justify lining Ubisoft CEO pockets. It's heartbreaking considering I loved this game so much in 2021 and 2022, but here we are. I can't recommend this game anymore.

it's silly fun, sure it's not optimised very well and sure it throws you in without instructions but it's silly it's goofy and it's fun to waste time on while waiting for food deliveries

it was fun when the mongols were nice to me, unfortunately i forgot the mongols are hoes. don't trust the mongols kiddos

okay, in all seriousness, this game was a perfect ending to the playable kiryu games. i was genuinely inconsolable, i was sobbing, i was crying, and i'm ready for ichiban
iwami was a pretty damn good villain even though i hated his guts, the hirose family was amazing and i'm super glad that they were introduced because DAMN they were fun
hands was a great karaoke song to end it all on, love it
