No, CS 1.6 recoil was literally random and heavily favored tap meta. It was a casual game mostly played casually aka most people were into surfing and bhoping and didn't give a crap about the competitive servers.
You know little about FPS mechanics if you think both games are comparable.
That's the beauty with casuals RPers, a game is just a skin for another.
The combat mechanics are never learned in depth enough to be defining.

Toki's Road to 6k Elo the issue with CS 2 is that it is full of cheaters abusing Anti-Aim, wallhacking, Nospread and aim assists .. i have seen it all and CS 2 is the worst version of CS in the entire history wich is 25 years now .. the recoils is basicly the same in CS 2 as it was in 1.6 as it was in CS:GO .. it is the cheaters in the game that are the problem and the developers that creates the problems in the game !"

Fun fact: The recoil in 1.6 was so fundamentally different from CS:GO and CS2 that it's fair to consider them different games in terms of mechanics. Being good in 1.6 and bragging about it in CS2 is not that different from bragging about pulling nukes in COD on CS2.
