I'm sorry to say but this game is far too flawed to recommend, it looks quite good artistically but that's about it. First of all on the strongest aspect, the art, there's barely any enemy models, you'll be seeing the same 3 spiders and 1 doll for pretty much the entire game and there's a lot of use of very bad AI art in the second half of the game, but while a lot of the enviromental models are clearly bought assets they don't feel mismatching.

Then the voice acting and writing, both are just really bad honestly, it feels like it was written in another language and google translated, the voice actors just didn't do a great job at line delivery either, although I have a hard time blaming them with the dialogue they got given.

The gameplay is below what I'd consider to be acceptable for a paid title, the guns feel like ♥♥♥♥, damage is inconsistent, it might take 2 headshots to kill an enemy or 5 headshots and another 5 bodyshots, the reticule is not actually lined up with there projectiles go which is very noticeable at long distances and enemies are just generally too fast making the combat just a series of clunkily shooting while enemies punch you and then healing.

Overall dev, I think you have the potential to make a good game but you need to study game design or get a game designer to work with you, there's an absurd amount of easy to fix issues that any competent game designer could've prevented.
It's ok for you to not be a great designer, it seems like you did nearly everything yourself and are quite new to this but it's an aspect you cannot ignore and hope works itself out.

This is a conditional recommendation. If you're the kind of person who cannot stop themselves from going for the true ending then avoid this game, the true ending puzzles are some of the blandest and most tedious ♥♥♥♥ i've ever had the displeasure of playing trough.
Not only that but they really really emphasized the issues I already had with the game to the point of tainting the whole experience, mostly the backtracking and how easy the puzzles are.

TLDR just don't do the secret ending, finish the game, do all achievements if you'd like but look up the secret ending online, you won't enjoy the process of getting it.

Imma keep it quick. Is this game somewhat clunky on certain aspects, yeah, it doesn't have the best combat, you'll get stuck on terrain etc.
Do I think any of that matters for this game, no.
What this game does incredibly well is the unique execution in both narrative and art direction of its concept of being a story based on central/center-east european folklore and fairy tales.
The landscapes are often stunning, the attention to detail is always there and the side content is expansive and as well executed as the rest of the game.

If you want a story driven game with Vermintide 2 level combat you won't find it here but you will find a beautiful, unique narrative and world made by clearly passionate artists.

Good act 1 and basics for the game but that's all the praise I can give.
uninteresting and grindy weapon upgrades, absent gold drops in act 2, game breaking bug that has stopped me from finishing the game in act 3, which has been known since at least january and never fixed.
Not to mention the other myriad of glitches especially in act 3 such as explosion sounds not working anymore, gold dropped on death being unrecoverable in certain areas and more.

Act 2 and 3 are also quite clearly unfinished, 1 had a ton of exploration, npcs and sidequests, 2 had very few but at least the level design still seemed finished, albeit linear.
Chapter 3 on the other hand is embarassing, it's incredibly barren, there's sand tornadoes around that make no sound or have any effect whatsoever and the first boss comes out of nowhere, alas because of the game breaking glitch i can't continue to see how badly the rest of the chapter was rushed.

I'm honestly mostly just sorry for the og creator as there was clearly passion and talent behind it originally, it could've been a great game but hey, Slipgate Ironworks...

Basically Super mario Galaxy + Tony Hawk's Pro Skater + Shadow of the Colossus, super fun, smooth and quick movement. The scenery looks absolutely incredible from a distance which is greatly enhanced by the fact there's no loading screens, just one gigantic map.
Big rec when on sale, can't say I'd get it full price tho.

Incredible amounts of bad decisions made for a game that had a very promising beginning.

Starts off as you might expect any horror game, eventually you get a weapon and that's when you'll notice the first issue.
The combat is really simple, bland and just straight up bad, it's pretty much just a matter of walking backwards or to the sides while you keep swinging but hey, not too big a deal right?

Well. what happens later on is that the areas switch to being large and full of enemies who keep respawning so it creates this loop of killing a few enemies, dying, respawning, killing a few more and repeating this until the area is temporarilty cleared. Also hope that the enemy that hides in respawn pools isn't randomly in yours and starts attacking you before you can even finish the respawn animation.

"Well if you don't want to do that just use stealth" I hear you say, my answer is no, because walking slowly behind enemies for 40 seconds and repeating this 3-5 times per area is actually really boring and takes a long time and oh boy, a new one spawned.

The game started off well, you just had to keep following those design principles and not create the mess it becomes.

Game literally won't launch, it's had an issue where it thinks your AMD drivers aren't updated past 21.9.1 since release and it was never fixed despite tons of requests by the community.
Absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke, I'd demand a refund if I hadn't gotten it from a Humble Choice.
Oh game also still has Denuvo in it cuz who wants good performance anyways.

So I know a lot of people were disappointed by this game and I can't blame them. They most likely expected a longer game with more weapon and enemy variety which is just not Scorn. What Scorn is is a grotesquely beautful world of which you can explore but a fraction, an atmosphere that is matched by few and the rest is just set dressing.
Now that doesn't mean the rest is badly executed, while there's only really 3 weapons in the game they play very unconventionally which is pretty cool, the enemies are alright, they get a bit tiring by the end but luckily the game doesn't drag itself longer than it should.

So yeah, ya want a short, disgusting, gorey experience, get Scorn, for if you look for what the game aims to excell on, there is little else that compares.

Considerably deeper and longer of a game than I expected, while in my playtrough I didn't find too many build opportunities, really kind of ending up forced into high moxie + fan hammer spam, the abilities offered were still all fun to explore and use + the game does have 5 classes so you still have variety there
