A game this simple has no reason to be this perfect.

An unbelievably stellar game that has so much amazing content packed inside that you will constantly crave playing it. Finishing the game simply stokes the fire to play more. An infinitely re-playable game, doubly so with the current mod support.

A perfect example of why steam needs a non-binary recommendation system.

Don't make the mistake of millions and look at this game like the second coming of Christ. It's not going to cure cancer, make poverty disappear, etc etc. It's an above average open-world action game with plenty to do and fun moment-to-moment gameplay. Plenty of different builds to utilize and perks/skills to make them work. Weapons are pretty satisfying to use.

That was the good part. The bad news is the game is, as a tl;dr, literally just unfinished. Narrative starts good with a good sense of player choice having impact. Early locales and life paths have good variation, but both decay after the main story kicks off (completion of "The Heist" mission). Looting is obnoxious. Some keys are hardcoded (but there is a workaround, still quite unacceptable).

Unfortunately, there is also the ugly. The AI is outright stupid most of the time. Police literally spawn inside walls to chase after you accidentally cause collateral damage. A number of perks do literally nothing. Optimization is not stellar. Animations freak out quite often. Many game systems and mechanics that were discussed by CDPR are watered down or absent entirely.

Game feels like a ubisoft release. Solid stuff all around, but plenty of weird bugs and strange issues.

All in all, a good and fun game but leaves a lot to be desired.

Like Mario Party, but its an adventure instead of a board game, where you bully your friends and anger them, then occasionally team up to kill the baddies.

♥♥♥♥ this game, what an emotional rollercoaster.

I've played almost no visual novels before this game, but damn, am I satisfied at the quality of the story-driven nature of this game. A game where the canon story has you play through many, many times (minimum 13 times for all main endings) and it makes sense to do so. Every single question I had in a playthrough was answered in another playthrough or the true ending. I'd strongly compare this game to Kentucky Route Zero in terms of gameplay, as KRZ was just a visual novel with interactive movement elements.

Don't be so quick to judge this game as a "dragon dating sim". It has elements, but it isn't horrifically in your face about sexing things ala HuniePop or Hatoful Boyfriend. Each character has their own side story arcs, and it isn't really about banging them. I nearly cried when I was told about one character's depressing backstory. Anna's good ending is the most bittersweet story I've heard in my life. The true ending was worth it, and more than satisfying.

I'll put it this way. If you have even the slightest interest visual novels, get this damn game.

The most proper spiritual successor to System Shock 2, better than Bioshock will ever be. Don't play this game expecting a hardcore FPS where you go guns blazing. Enemy encounters are thoughtful and require using different tools/powers, and taking tougher enemies head on will likely result in death. A game where even the easier two difficulties can give you a run for your money. Very interesting story to boot.

tl;dr

System Shock 2 fans, this is a must buy.
