What was one of my most anticipated games of all time many years ago. When the early access beta released back in 2013, I finally got a chance to play the hell out of this game. Obviously, the game didn't have a lot to stand on in that state, but was still reasonably polished and had a functional progression system, with long hours to be spent getting to high tiers.

Somehow much of the game's content that was present back then was simply cut from the game. Even closer to the game's release, there was far more content. Weapons are a joke now, very little randomisation from the procedural generation, no procedurally generated armors, racial armor bonuses were oddly never implemented (in fact much of the racial exclusive stuff was simply removed. why?), biome generation is, incredibly, rather stale and similar, all the cool movement techs and mechs were removed, and to hit the final nail on the coffin, the main story was awfully implemented.

Let me tell you, the 150+ hours that I have on this game are very misleading. Around 140 of those hours were spent in the early access versions of the game. I spent probably around 20 hours with version 1.0, and within 10 of those hours I had the best armor and weapons for my specialization (melee/tank), and almost 5 hours later, I had the best sword in the game, as well as two pistols that were boss drops that are highly overpowered when coupled with a staff that can place an energy field (otherwise every gun in this game is pitiful because of the energy consumption). The rest of my time I spent just standing around on planets because this game has the redeeming quality of being absolutely gorgeous.

tl;dr I can't recommend it, because so much of the old content has been stripped, and it feels hallow and bare. Only mods and future content patches will save this game really. If you never touched the beta, you might enjoy it.

Owned this game since the 2010 Xbox Summer of Arcade games.

A phenomenal and amazing experience. The music, atmosphere, ambiguity, sound design, and art style make this one of the best games of all time. A masterpiece of a 2d platformer puzzle game where the primary mechanic is trial-and-death, but is very forgiving with it's checkpoints to the point where it makes dying a piece of the puzzle instead of a penalty.

One of the few games I personally consider perfect.

Back to it's very solid roots, Legends is a beautiful and super fun platformer (w/ 4 player local coop to boot!). Aesthetic is extremely well done, as is the music.

GAMES NEED MORE MUSIC STAGES. Seriously, the music stage idea brings this game from like a 7/10 to a 9.5/10 alone. Shame there is only a few of them.

A really, really good console game. Engine is tied to framerate (rip 144 Hz moniter), way too many problems with PC settings. Gamewise, new leveling isn't too bad, weapon mods is just damage+ or damage++, melee users will be massively overpowered after approximately 15 levels, finally new dialogue is rather bad imo. PC mods are decent.

Wait for never for Bethesda to fix the PC version (basically, for once, it's better to buy on the console).

As unbelieveable as it sounds, Fran Bow does a remarkable job doing exactly what Antichamber does; twisting what you see, making you question if what you are seeing is actually real or not. It's astonishing how sucked into a point & click game I've somehow become. A game where the ending raises more questions than answers, and that's not really a bad thing in this case. Currently the ending allows for much of a player's own interpretation of what actually happened. I personally feel that it was a buildup for some kind of sequel or DLC to come for the game.

Do yourself a favor. I saw the game played back when it was still in development, and it was only the first chapter and then some. Take your time exploring the game world, many things can be clicked on repeatedly for some additional info, which helps you understand the lore a bit more. I would estimate the first blind playthrough will take about 10-15 hours. Personally, I wish I had spent waaaay more time walking around in chapter three anyway because of the absolutely amazing environment.

Seriously, the chapter three area has more soul and charm than any other game location I've seen in a long time.

Haven't played this game once since launch (probably should get back into it). Still have 100 hours in it.

One of the few games that manages to not be your average early access ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Was super solid and difficult even during it's transition from Wasteland Kings into Nuclear Throne. Not for the faint of heart (aka casuals).

Only 4 keys are required on a keyboard to play this game. Extremely addicting soundtrack (obvious since it's a rythm game), fun as hell gameplay. A game where executing an impressive set of moves in a few beats rewards well and is ultra satisfying. Musical dungeon-crawling.

Play local coop with a friend who is musically-impaired so they can die trying to fight a red dragon because they lost the rythm.

A very good and mechanically solid and pretty shooter, bad Bioshock game. Very interesting story, understanding the ending is a moment of pure revelation. Only recommended if you play this game first, then go and play Bioshock 1 and understand why it is a better Bioshock game.

Absolutely gorgeous leaderboard-focused 'endless' runner. Surprising amount of depth, customization, and plenty of insane challenges to tackle (good luck only turning left). Leaderboard resets daily.

Early Access Review
Insanely fast 1 shot, 1 kill action, akin to UT instagib or Railgun matches from Quake. Add in the ability to rocket jump freely around the map = Ratz Instagib. Insane amounts of customization, both in graphical/audio/gameplay options AND character items. Play bots for practice, or Survival if you want to team up against AI.

Seriously, even AAA titles can't compare how many options this game has.
