After completing the game through on hard, I think I've put enough time into the game for what I wanted to be able to recommend this game on good terms.

Aside from specific features that are currently missing at launch this port is great for what it is. Yes there could have been more options both graphically and support wise, but what is missing or limited at the time of review is as follows.

Ultra wide resolution support
HOTAS Flight Stick support (which supports specific ones as of right now and more are being worked on for a later patch ASAP)
Different forms of AA beyond FXAA
Limited ability to rebind keys, along with an inverted mouse control
There are 3 VR missions for PSVR that Sony has exclusive rights to until this time next year, which the team will decide to
either port them to PC or let it stay that way when the time comes
the LOD is quite low, but can be edited in an .ini file with little to no performance loss so it might be added later

I probably forgot some things but honestly I don't have the heart to just sit here picking this game apart for flaws that don't bother me personally. As a previous player ever since Ace Combat 4 on PS2, I can honestly say that this game is an evolution of the series in a positive direction without having to compare it to Assault Horizon to feel that way.

I hope you'll give it a try, or at least a good long period of thought, because this series is a gem that was buried by time up until now. One I hope to see prosper for many more years.
