This game is not bad. This is an acceptable title with plenty to like in its 50+ hours of gameplay. It looks pretty and plays decently. Its story and characters are fine. I didn’t have to force myself to finish the game. It just feels very average though. It checks all the boxes of a modern open world but doesn’t do much interesting with it. The story is uninteresting and predictable at times. The voice acting and dialogue are slow and unnatural. The character animation in cutscenes does actually look pretty good, but when conversations become 1-on-1’s with the camera flipping between 2 perspectives, it gets really mediocre and often cycles through a few premade animations that can get really tiring to look at. The actual gameplay and combat is pretty good, if not a little slow and unresponsive. Some robots have absurdly long reaches on some of their attacks, but generally, most fights are fair, even on higher difficulties. The skill tree is neat with useful abilities you can unlock early on. The customization with modifications to your weapons and armor is fun and feels nice when you get a rare modification, though the inventory is very limiting if you want to hold onto modifications for all types of effects. You can upgrade your inventory by crafting, but after the 3 or 4 times you're given, it still feels quite limiting. Inventory management as a whole is quite bad if you're a hoarder and/or completionist, though that isn't really a problem and more just a nitpick on my part. I did encounter quite a few more bugs than I would've expected. Thankfully most were only visual, but those can still get distracting, and one of the times the sun was exploding and shining the world in an epileptic light. Overall the game is fine. It's an uncontroversial box-standard open-world rpg, that while playable, I can't recommend due to how mediocre it can be at times. Editing this after I beat new game + and 100% the entire thing, I have nothing to add to my review.

Very early into the game as of writing this, but I can't imagine it gets much better. The game looks cool and flashy, but after a while you realize that's all it has going for it. Combat is extremely simple, with it just being quick time events into holding down the talisman button. You don't really get much options for movement either, so the loop is, use your free invincibility to wait for an easily parry-able move, parry, attach a talisman, repeat. Now, that could be a fine enough loop for combat, but with the game trying a lot on its visual style some moves are simply just harder to parry, and thats even if the hitboxes line up with the moves at all. There are very minimal i-frames if any when hit, so there's been a good few times where because of the layout of the arena or environment, you just get combo'd and die instantly. I want to talk about the exploration and map, but there isn't really much to talk about. Mostly uninteresting layouts and easily noticeable secrets. Maybe i'm just not used to noticing everything yet, but the artstyle and design of the different areas just feels really same-y and bland. semisolid platforms look really similar to regular fully-solid platforms, so you'll just jump is place trying to go through platforms a lot and not be able to flow through areas that well. Overall, the game just feels kinda rough, which is understandable considering my knowledge of the developers, but I can't find myself to recommend this game at the time.

I'm conflicted about my opinions on Cs2. It's a great game with plenty of skill expression and ways to be good (or bad) at, but it has its caveats. The under-performing anti-cheat is personally not a big gripe, but I also don't play super seriously, so I understand that may be a bigger problem for some. The game still lacks a sizable amount of content from cs:go, but I have full faith in the developers that they will eventually, slowly, re-add most of it. Finally, people complain that the game doesn't perform very well and in comparison to cs:go, it does not, but compared to modern similar games, it runs fine. You don't need a 4090 to play, there's plenty of options in settings to mess with your frame rate. I play at high to medium settings and get 100+ frames with my 4070. The game's free, it can be a little hard to get into, but I think it's a great time once you get comfortable with it, just don't take the game super seriously or else the community will rear its head.

An amazing pain. Hard to get into, but extremely worth it. Modding is almost necessary as the game is horribly optimized, but once you're past that, this is one of the best games of its genre. You get a huge degree of freedom and choices you can make, the writing is spectacular, the soundtrack is impeccable, the entire game is just a great time. You may need a guide or help to start playing, but once you're in, you're in.

Neat little metroidvania with sick movement. There isn't all that much combat, but the little there is can get pretty fun when using all the movement abilities you have at once. The game does need a little work in some areas due to bugs or lack of small features, but the game is easily worth the five bucks that it is.

Early Access Review
Lethal Company is an amazing team game. The amount of fun you can have just from the loop of going into facilities, strategizing, and interacting with others is insane. This game can be scary, but it's not super serious. There's a lot of ways to play, and if you want, you can just goof around and be silly.

Very much a sandbox game. If you like other source games and got a friend or two to ♥♥♥♥ around with then this is a great time waster.
